Double D Challenge: Fresh Picked

It's time for another Double D challenge, friends!  Diane made a delicious and refreshing board to inspire us:

Anything fresh picked other than flowers.

It's the yummiest, and I have a stamp or digi for everything on the board.  Most of them are old-ish, but that's okay.  If they haven't been purged it means I still like them, as is the case with the simple little stamp I used today.  It's from the SU Giggle Greetings set.

I played with designer paper from The Vast Hoard, too, and that was fun.  In 2021 when I did a whole-house declutter I went through my paper pads sheet by sheet and took out all the sheets I was less likely to use.  I ended up with a sizeable give-away pile and considerably more room in my paper cupboard.  Here we are, 2 years later, and I'm full to overflowing again, sigh.  Such is Life.

I layered the image circle onto a same size red circle in such a way that only a single rim of red shows at the lower edge.  Added stamped sprinkles, a branch, and a natural thread bow.  The red base is plain cardstock which I embossed with the SU Subtle embossing folder, retired.

I saved the rest of the sentiment for the inside:

Isn't that the truth?

There's a cute prize for a random winner, plus we'll vote on creative winners.  It's all good fun.

Come see all the fresh picked goodness the rest of the team is sharing at Double D.  I hope you'll share yours as well.  Have a good day!

Stamps:  Stampin' Up Giggle Greetings, Itty Bitty Backgrounds  Paper:  Neenah 110 lb Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White, SU Poppy Parade, Memory Box green cardstock and Brioche designer paper (old timey)  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Kiwi Kiss for sprinkles  Coloring:  Copics  Other:  Linen thread, Memory Box Stitched Circle Layers, die-namites Leafy Flourish, SU Subtle 3D embossing folder

Leslie, what a beautiful card. Love how you drew from the inspiration board using the bowl of cherries! DP is so perfect for your image, and love the added die cut branch, and the sentiment! I hear you on the hoarding of the paper, I purged so much, but still have enough dp to last a lifetime. Thank you for sharing today, I love when you create, it's always so inspiring. Have a wonderful day. We are in day 8 of rainy days, supposed to see sunshine starting tomorrow, fingers crossed!

So cute, and that paper is just perfect. I have really put a halt on buying new designer paper except to be used for specific projects. I've also given away quite a bit and planning to visit a resale shop on Friday where I may donate a bunch more stuff.

I love it, those papers are just perfect to go with your cherries and I like how you colored the bowl too. I like how you added a strip to go through your circle from your background that is so cool and I like the splatter around the image too. That branch die curved like that works so well with it all too!!

LOL! What a great card! I love the background paper (so glad you saved that piece to use) and the way it coordinates with your darling stamp set. But more, the sentiment (inside and out) really has me chuckling. I especially like the way you created a grounding for your circle and tree branch. GENIUS design tip! I love seeing things in friends' card that I would never EVER think of. Upon seeing their ideas, I palm-slap my forehead with, "how clever! I wanna do that!" Wishing you more cherries, and very little pits!
hugs,
de

After seeing all the strawberry cards, it’s refreshing to see one with cherries. I know what you mean about a favorite old stamp. I have one that’s a bowl of apples. I was really surprised by the sentiment. I loved it on the front and when I saw the inside, I actually had a chuckle. I think, adding the die cut branch was a fabulous idea along with your background paper that you used. A little strips of bright colored card. Stock on the bottom really makes this a lovely card.

What a great card! I love how everything mashes together. You did such a great job with all the DSP you used. I usually spend too much time trying to decide what paper to use and then change my mind at the last minute. Maybe I should clean out my paper a well and it wold be easier to decide!! LOL!

Hi, Leslie
Just beautiful and now I can't wait for the cherries to appear in the supermarket after seeing this gorgeous card. All the ladies of both teams did a wonderful job with this theme as I was craving all the delicious-looking fruits on the cards!!! Beautiful coloring job too!!

Your sentiment is definitely the truth. Life ebbs and flows. Love your card, it has a lovely light summery feel to it and such great use of that paper. I am impressed that you embossed the red bas when it is hardly seen. It is always the little details that matter most xx

I LOVE seeing your beautiful designer papers, Leslie! You use them beautifully! This one is perfect for your awesomely colored bowl of cherries that is mounted to show it off perfectly! Love the sentiments too. So true.

Hi Leslie! Do I need to find The Vast Hoard Shop to check out their papers, lol? What a great mood board and your take on it is delightful! I've been in love with that adorable stamp since it came out and with your fabulous coloring it looks better than ever! I may even still have that one. You are such a master at combining elements, I just love the vine-y dies and how well they bring out the paper. I'm admiring the fresh fun vibe of this one!
