Hello friends! Back with another Double D challenge. In our previous challenge Diane called for fresh picked, but no flowers. This time Darlene says it's all about FLOWERS. That's the theme, and the pretty mood board is for inspiration if you'd like a spark:
I was tempted to color one of my poppy stamps, but decided instead to color the one remaining stamp from my Penny Black Ebullient set that I hadn't colored yet. I let the orange of the poppies be my inspiration.
I colored with Tombow markers on hot press watercolor paper. The flowers are markers only, but the subtle shading around them is watercolor.
The card was crafted with quite a few old-timey things from my stash -- SU Ticket Corner punch and Word Window punch, copper brads, and a die from the Spellbinders Floral Flourishes set. It's quite old, but I still use it fairly often. I don't think the card looks too dated but, you know, I'm pretty dated, myself, so I'm probably not a good judge.

I adore this image displayed on the wood plank background. The colors and the subtle background behind the flowers are just perfect, and the swirl die off to the side is mysterious. You have used some things on the card than may be old, but still look great.
This card is not dated and neither are you my friend! What this card is though is LOVELY!! I'm always amazed at the blending you can achieve with those tombow markers,,,your flowers are just absolutely BEAUTIFUL Leslie! I love the subtle watercoloring around the flowers too and all the little extra details like the brads also! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

Your artistry with those markers amazes me, Leslie - I've never tried the Tombow markers, but Zigs and I don't seem to work very well together. Maybe I should give them another try?

Gorgeous. I just love flowers and these are so pretty. Love your layout and not dated at all. You know they say, "What goes around, comes around." Always great to use those unused items in our stash.
What a gorgeous, rugged, earthy, sweet, delicate scene, Leslie. Is it possible for all those words to work together? It must be, because that's what your artwork portrays to me! It doesn't look dated at all, it is absolutely gorgeous, your coloring of those flowers is just amazing, just love the blend you got with them, the flourish is a great touch and I love the copper brads with your wood background, it all goes together just perfectly!

I have been away, so am a bit behind but had to come visiting to see what I missed. I always really like to see people use older things from their stash, it is never dated in my book. It is all about how you use it and I really love this one. Those pretty dainty flowers, the lovely corners, little flourish and wood background all add up to make this one very special and definitely not dated xx

Not dated at all! I honestly am inspired seeing you use what you have and how you combine things that make each card unique! These flowers are colored beautifully and I love the leafy die wrapped on the edge. The metallic brads add a wonderful touch.

Gorgeous poppies and perfect for this time of year!! Loved seeing the corner punch used and brads, gee I have so many of those and never think to use them, so you have inspired me to do so!!
