Mason Jar Challenge at Double D

Happy Monday to you!  I have a card today that speaks "summer" in the most refreshing way.  I made it specifically so I could play along in the Double D Mason Jar Challenge.  I have several stamps that could play in the challenge, but glad I remembered this Graciellie digi that's been printed up and sitting in my digi box for... oh, I don't know... maybe a year or so, sheesh.  It's called Mason Jar Watermelon.

It's just a fun stamp you don't have to get too serious about.  I colored it with Copic markers and added a designer paper border with real ric rac.  I'm super pleased about that!  For embellishment I have some cute flower sequins that match the flower print in the ric rac.

Pictured below is the pretty mood board for the Double D Challenge.  They always inspire me!  I'm also sharing at Darnell's NBUS challenge because of the not-yet-used Mason jar digi.

I've been enjoying a little card making the last few days, even though my new desk is not yet put together.  It will be soon.  First I have to clear the floor so we can work on it.  So many things to do!

Stay safe and well, please.  You are loved.

Stamps:  Graciellie Designs Mason Jar Watermelon digi, Power Poppy sentiment (retired)  Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White, My Mind's Eye 'Notable' designer paper  Ink:  Printer, Memento Tuxedo Black  Coloring:  Copics  Other:  Ric rac, Queen & Co flower sequins

Nourish Hope

Hello, friends!  I continue to work with my seemingly never ending stash of not-yet-used supplies, moving between stamps, dies, and digital stamps.  Today's card actually started with the background which I made while randomly playing around.  It's ink blended and then stamped over with the leaves.  I didn't use a whole card-sized piece of cardstock, so I added the wood grain border to fill out.

The Copic colored flowers are from Graciellie Designs Nourish and Flourish digital stamp set.  I've created with these flowers before, but this time I printed them much larger and cut them out to fill the corner.

First time use of the Cottage Cutz Hope Phrase.  Yes, it's one of my Scrapping Cottage bargain finds ($1.95).  I picked up a few of these different words at that price.  Nice size, pretty script.

After I had all the parts put together I added splatters the easy way -- with a stamp from SU's retired Itty Bitty Backgrounds set.

Inside the card is the sentiment, "A fresh start awaits every morning", which comes with the Nourish and Flourish set.

I sure do appreciate having you here and I hope you enjoyed looking!   I'm a little behind on my computer activity, including visiting blogs, but if you'll bear with me I'll eventually catch up.  Hugs all around... from a safe distance.

Ice Cream Bouquet

Greetings, friends!  How lucky was I when I won a GC for Graciellie Designs digital shop?  Very lucky, I tell you!  So I went shopping, of course, and took my time browsing, looking for something different from other stamps in my collection.  I loved this ice cream bouquet!  The set is called Sweetness.

I watercolored with Gansai Tambi paints; really just splashed on the colors and didn't leave much in the way of highlights, but I don't miss them.  It feels okay to me.  Ordinarily I'm excruciatingly detailed with watercolors.  I used sherbet colors and added a strip of designer paper that had all the same colors, stitched it up and good to go.  The sentiment is from the set, too.  Printed separately and popped up.  I lightened the image just a bit before printing.  It's not 'no-line', but 'light-line'.

It was nice to sit down and throw some paints around.  Watercolor is my favorite, for sure.  What's next?  I'll have to peek in my project bags.  See you soon!

Eat. Sleep. Read.

Hello there and happy Monday!  Don't be shocked... today's post has nothing to do with Halloween or Thanksgiving or Christmas.  It's just a card with a matching bookmark, and it's good for any day in any season because anytime is a good time to pick up a book and read.

I combined two digital sets from Graciellie Design -- Book Lovers and Nourish & Flourish.  It was really the Book Lovers set that drew me in because, in addition to the stack of books and the tea cup, it has 7 great sentiments for a book lover.  The vase of flowers is part of the Nourish & Flourish set.

I colored with Copics and die cut with an old Spellbinders set.  Designer papers are Mintay's Dear Diary collection.

My friend and I spent Friday at the book store --  hours of talking and laughing and browsing books over lunch with dessert and coffee, and we each went home with a tote bag full of stories.  I slipped between the pages of a book that evening and didn't come out till bedtime.  It is a lovely place to be!

Have a beautiful day!
