Just for Fun Critter Friends

Hi!  October 1st?  Holy cow!  I'd better get with the season!  I don't have any new fall stamps yet this year, but I was pretty sure I could make a fall-ish scene with some not yet used dies.  It's pretty simplistic, but I thought I'd stop while I was ahead.

This reminds me so much of LuLu and her squirrel friend, the way they stand nose to nose at the tree.

I rubbed a little ink into the background and colored the dies with Copic markers.  Used a white gel pen to add spots and a white tail tip to the dog.  The image panel has a red layer under it, but I didn't want to add an additional border.  It's just there to make the sentiment show up better.

Dies:  Memory Box Tree of Wonder, Amy Designs Cats and Dogs, Impression Obsession Squirrel Set, Paper Smooches Hello Words

I'm including this in Darnell's 10 day NBUS challenge.  The tree, squirrel, and dog are all NBUS, and I've had them quite a while, tsk tsk.

Speaking of LuLu, while I was sick she had to take herself for a walk:

Just kidding, but isn't she cute?  Rich walked the dogs all on his lonesome while I was sick, but I'm back to going with them again.  Whenever we reach the halfway mark LuLu wants to carry her leash.  I hang onto part of it until we get to our own street, and if there are no cars coming I'll let her take herself home.

Have a happy day, week, month, season, year, and I'll see you again soon!

Awesome, Leslie! Love the interaction between Lulu and the squirrel. I like the way you colored the die-cut, too. So cute - Lulu taking herself for a walk:) I'm glad you are feeling well enough to walk with them now.

LOVE this card! It's perfect in every way! A friend of mine who lives on the other end of my row of houses has a dog I adore & she meets me at the garage & walks me to her house every time she is outside. She knows I adore her and apparently I am the only one she does this with. ha ha She also loves to torment the squirrels and I have seen her in exactly this position many times! Glad you are feeling well enough to walk with "our" fur babies!

The best news is knowing you are feeling like your old self again! I'm sorry it took so long, but it does my heart good knowing you feel better, Leslie - it's not fun being sick. Lulu is adorable, in both her real-life photo, and her die cut photo! The little freckles are darling! Leslie, I'm impressed with the pretty intense colors, which still look like bright pastels in the leaves of your die cut. IT IS GORGEOUS! Beautifully done. We are still fall from Autumn here, but today we have cooler temps - it will only last one day, but still, it's wonderful to only be 82 in the shade! Please take care - I can hardly wait to see what happens on your first trip! xx

Hi Leslie! I'm glad you are feeling well enough to go for walks with the family. :-) It's no fun to be sick. I'm sure Wally, Lulu and Rich all missed having you outside, enjoying the weather.
The picture of Lulu carrying her own leash is BEYOND PRECIOUS! It made me smile, ear to ear. Thank you for sharing that. It brightens my day!
Your card is so very sweet, and the fact that the diecuts ring familiar in your own life make it sweeter all the more.
Happy October to you!!

Love that tree die and how you added personality to the puppy by adding the little bit of white to his tail and some freckles. Cute card.

very cute, love the way you colored the tree, gave it the look of dimension and terrific coloring of the leaves. oh my goodness even cuter is watching her walk herself with the leash, I bet she is happy to have her momma back to walking :) Peanut would always stop at the end of the driveway and look for Greg if he didn't come on a walk with us.

Your card is fabulous. Love the tree, but the dog is so adorable with the white dots and tail tip. So clever! Lulu is adorable. I know she's happy to have you back walking with her again. That's cute that she walks herself part of the way home.

Cute card! My Molly leads herself around unless I have the double lead on and then she grabs Bella lead. Such a silly girl!

Stop! You make me want to get another Golden every time I see Lulu! How adorable she is walking herself home! I'm so glad that you are back to normal and able to go on the walks, Leslie! And I love your sweet tree card with Lulu and her squirrel friend! I'd love to see a photo of them together if you can catch one! These dies made for a wonderfully happy all-purpose card! Thank you so much for playing again in my NBUS Challenge #12! Hugs, Darnell

Leslie, even your cute critters come out with a bit of classy elegance. Love this card! The squirrel and puppy seem to be telling a story, and your stitching details and wood grain papers are perfect accents. Beautiful!
Best of all is the sweet photo of Lulu.

don't know which is more fun to look at, Lulu or the card. I can't get over how real you make everything look. The picture just leaps off my screen

I am glad you are feeling better. We do that with Ranger also, but he doesn't hold his leash in his mouth. He just let it drag behind him. hee hee This tree die is so cute and I adore that puppy at the bottom. Sweet fall card.

Wow Leslie, I love your card and how you used this die. I never thought of colouring it the way you did, very creative. (I've always just die cut it out of cardstock). Gorgeous fall colours on the leaves, love the background wood grain paper - so perfect for your focal point. The squirrel & dog dies are so adorable, love how you incorporated these into your image. Lulu makes me smile! So glad you are feeling better, and so sorry it took so long to comment on your blog - Bill and I took off for a week, just got back late last night - went up north - beautiful country - gorgeous fall colours!
