Coffee Please

Hi there!  I didn't think I'd have any new fall stamp sets, but then Verve came up with their very first digital set and I just had to give it a try seeing as how I think it's so darn cute.  Didn't hurt that it's a whole stamp set for only $4.  Oops, is my cheap side showing?  Well, who doesn't love a bargain?  The set is called Coffee Please.

I know digis aren't for everyone and, true, when I have a little time to stamp it doesn't involve going to the computer first.  I like to go into my room and simply start creating.  However, when I think ahead it's fun to put some images together for coloring later.  So that's what I did here.  I goofed around in Photoshop Elements, moving and turning and resizing several images from the set.  Photoshop's magic eraser made it easy to remove white space from the individual images so I could layer them.

I colored with Copics on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and added just a little tab of burlap ribbon and a leafy swoosh for accent.  The image panel is popped up.  Simple and easy to mail.

Inside I used another of the four sentiments that come with the set.  I think this one works perfectly well for a fall birthday.

Fall is a funny season.  We've had some beautiful days and some rainy, blustery days.  Every time I turn on the news I see another weather catastrophe or man made tragedy and my heart hurts for all those affected.  Again, I count my blessings and try to keep all my little problems in perspective.

I'll be back to visit again this week.  'Tis the season for making lots of cards!

Stamps:  Verve "Coffee Please" digital set  Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest,  SU Glorious Green, kraft card base, Graphic 45 Raining Cats and Dogs designer paper  Ink:  Printer, Copics for coloring  Accessories:  Burlap ribbon, Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders, Spellbinders Floral Flourishes, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

Leslie, this is a beautiful card. Love your colors and the extra elements you've added. Your card made me smile on this bleak day in Ohio. Enjoying my chocolate raspberry coffee right now.

What warm colours, which brought a smile to my face. Love the mix of the paper, the digi image and the texture of the swirl and burlap. Beautiful colouring and what a fun sentiment. Clever use of photoshop and it's amazing what it can do...or should I say what you can do with it!

Love the addition of the die cut and canvas ribbon.

The plaid paper sets the tone for this fun card. I love how you tucked the burlap behind the focal image for the extra texture. I love what you did on the inside with that tooo cute sentiment.

Oh Leslie, I had a chance to come and check out your blog and, as always, it's full of amazing and inspiring creations.
This card is so lovely, bright and cheerful in those gorgeous Autumn colors.
Love the sentiments both outside and inside of your card and I'm glad to see you are also finishing the insides of your cards, which you'd agree, saves a ton of time when you mail them.
Thank you for sharing,
Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.

A fabulous card indeed! I so adore this card, I love 'coffee' cards, although I seldom make them.
You sure have captured the fall feeling in this, great colours - love the plaid paper, and the way you arrange your digital images - gosh you as so good at it. And the sentiments are so perfect -love the salted caramel wishes! The bit of burlap and your little flourish adds a touch of rustic to it - nice touch! I just love this card btw, I have scrolled several times up to look at it as I am writing my comment. Swoon....., okay must head off to work! Have a wonderful day Leslie.

So so SOOOOO pretty, Leslie! It's a wonderful creation! By the way, thank you SO VERY MUCH for the GORGEOUS birthday card! I treasure every little detail from the fancy gold layers, to the flower centers so sparkly and bright, and your wonderful note written on the inside. You are such an artist with the embossing, shading, and bejeweled richness dancing around. Thank you so much, Leslie! You made my special day, VERY special indeed! love, de

Digi's are difficult at time for me I would say and tend to use them just as they come. The fancy stuff of mixing like you do takes more time than creating the card I think. I stick to basics, but then I see what you do and I just I need to try that. ;-) This is a sweet fall card Leslie. I like how you combined the digi's and your coloring is awesome! Wonderful fall card and I could use a salted caramel coffee right about now. ha!
