ROSEMARY FOR REMEMBRANCE

Monday again?  August already?  How fast these summer days fly by!  It's been so windy here these last couple of weeks I do what needs to be done in the garden and then escape to my stamp room.  Mornings are nice, but it really picks up later in the day.  While I do have some shelter from the wind in the garden, the noise of it is not at all peaceful.  I'm hoping, however, that the card I'm sharing today will impart some measure of peace to the recipient as, you see, it is a sympathy card.

I've used a new set from Power Poppy called Soothing Sympathy.  I stamped the rosemary four times without masking on Neenah 110 lb cardstock.  Sponged ink on the card front, then colored with Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits, and brushed over the butterfly with Wink of Stella. For a little flourish I finished it off with the Memory Box Riviera Corner.

The images and sentiments in this set combine so beautifully I have a feeling it will be my go-to sympathy set for quite some time.  I just hope I don't have to use it too often.

Wishing you a peaceful and beautiful day.

STUNNING! Be still my heart! As Ros mentioned above this is so 'serene. You have created your image just so perfectly, love the soft yellow sponging around the image and of course to finish off with the Memory Box die, exquisite. A very beautiful sympathy card Leslie - WOW! thanks for much for sharing such a beauty. I have still not purchased Power Poppy's latest release. With our postal strike still pending, I would hate for my stamp sets to be caught up somewhere. I'm hoping my local stamp store can order them in. Have a wonderful day, and I hope the winds die down for you. Looks like we are in for another heat wave with over 100F temps this week. Yuck!

Oh my goodness, Leslie - this is beautiful! I love the sponging, the images, your coloring and the flourish. Oh, and of course, the sparkle. :) I hope you don't need to use it soon. I've found for some reason, I've been making several sympathy cards. I hope I don't need to use them, either.

This is absolutely beautiful and yes ... very calming! I LOVE how you stamped your stamps to create the design and then of course the butterfly is colored beautifully! This sponging really gave it an extra softness and I would have never thought to add a die cut like that ... AWESOME! Enjoy your week and thanks for amazing inspiration!

You have the most creative cards! I would never have thought to use my die on top of that beautiful image! Your butterfly is so gorgeous I am waiting for him to flap his little wings & head off to the next flower! This is one of the prettiest sympathy cards I've seen! What a beautiful & peaceful way to begin the day! (Mine started with a mammogram! ha ha)

That is quite Beautiful, very calm and peaceful, great stamping and such pretty coloring, I never would have thought to put the die over the image like that but it looks terrific. I sure hope you won't have too many reasons to use it either but looks like it is a good set to go to for these occasions!

This does look so peaceful. I love the colors you used. It looks like one of my Monarchs. I really like the background - kind of muted to contrast the rich colors of the butterfly.
