Peace on Earth -- A Brand New Christmas Challenge

Welcome to our first Peace On Earth Challenge!  It's a brand new Christmas challenge from Darlene and Diane, who seem to have boundless energy when it comes to creating and managing challenge blogs.  This makes their 4th challenge blog, running concurrently.  Whew, I'm exhausted just thinking about it, but I do have to say those girls know how to run a beautiful challenge.

It's an "anything goes Christmas" challenge, but an inspiration board is provided if you'd like to use it.  Today's board has a nice variety to choose from.

I think the flower-bedecked horse in the upper right corner of the board is the most beautiful thing as I do have a fondness for critter stamps of a similar nature.  Today I've used a magnificent stag against a snowy woodland.

I need more stamps like I need a hole in the head, but I recently went on a special search for this type of beautiful Inkadinkado wood block stamp, realizing I had so few in my collection and feeling an urge to add more before they get too difficult to find.  I feel better now.  This one is called Christmas Reindeer.

I stamped the stag in Versafine Onyx Black on X-Press It Blending Card and embossed with detail clear embossing powder.  I found it to be the best way to capture the detailed pattern in his body.  The DOX background was blended directly onto the card base.

I'll refer you to the Peace on Earth challenge blog for fabulous team samples and more information.  I will mention that challenges are twice a month, beginning on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.  I hope you'll join us.  Have a wonderful day!

Stamps:  Inkadinkado Christmas Reindeer  Paper:  X-Press It Blending Card, SU Ballet Blue, Neenah 110 lb white for extra layer under believe word, silvery-white glitter paper for star  Inks:  Versafine Onyx Black, DOX Chipped Sapphire  & Scattered Straw  Dies:  Memory Box Evergreen Sky Collage & Tall Fir Collage, Frantic Stamper Believe, MFT Die-Namics Star Stax

The dies you have used to place him on are absolutely perfect, like they were made for him! The background colors are beautiful as well, what a treasure this card is!! Very glad you are part of our new adventure and I look forward to all our upcoming challenges with our teams!!

This is OMG GORGEOUS! LOVE your overall design and the background is amazingly beautiful! I'm glad you mentioned the 'scene' on the reindeer as my eye was still drawn to the background colors and I hadn't noticed it but wow ... what a beautiful stamp! And, I love that you used blue for your sentiment die ... really pulled it all together! GORGEOUS!
I'm so happy your on our team! I can't wait to see more of your beautiful creations and be inspired! HUGS & HAPPY DAY my friend!

Wow! This is gorgeous. It's hard to find stamps in the stores right now. I think the shipping slow down has made it hard for stores like Michael's to keep inventory. Online shopping looks better every day.

Well I was confused with DOX, but I get it now ... mainly because I went looking for the colors you used for the back ground. Fabulous card. The layers are fabulous and I love that stamp. The fir trees use to create the shadows is genius. Just the right amount of color mixed with the black and white. Glad to be on a team with you again.

What a great stamp! I like how the stag looks with the clear embossing powder. It seems like we keep crossing with my post and challenges. Sometimes I post and then decide to enter a challenge later so you are not missing anything. Darlene commented on my Halloween post and mentioned her new challenge so I went there and I immediately knew which card was yours! You're right - they do have a lot of energy!

Wow, Leslie! This is spectacular. So elegant and I love the colors. Those oxide inks really pop. The stag image is so amazing and the clear embossing really makes the details stand out. I need to try something like this on my stag die cut. You are ALWAYS such an inspiration!

That reindeer is truly amazing. He looks so majestic and I love the trees on his body. Your background is pretty amazing too and you have really achieved the look of soft snow falling. It is perfectly framed by your white die cut and what a lovely sentiment too. You are doing really well to keep up with 4 design teams. I only have two and find myself in danger of being overwhelmed. Well done you xx
