Hello and welcome! It's time for me to get coloring on some Christmas cards, so I stamped out everything new plus an oldie or two. Today it's one of the stamps in the Chickadee Holiday set from Stampendous.
I embossed with Liquid Platinum, which maybe wasn't such a good idea seeing as how the bird now has a platinum eye, but it's done and it still looks pretty good. The Liquid Platinum is new to me so I had to try it you know. Coloring is with my trusty Tombow markers and homemade blender solution. I dotted white acrylic paint all over for snowfall.
I have a fondness for bird stamps, and for the real thing as well. In September the Cedar Waxwings were enjoying the bird bath just outside my patio door. There were about a thousand more than shown in this photo, but they came and went so quickly I'm surprised I even got this photo.
My Stampendous birds are new and a first time use, so I'm going to link up with Darnell's NBUS Challenge #31 (never before used schtuff).
Thanks, Darnell, for the encouragement to get the NBUS out of the basket, and thanks everyone else for stopping by to visit today. Enjoy your day!

Oh my that is just gorgeous, even with the platinum eye. I just heard about that embossing powder, I think from Jennifer McGuire, it does look fabulous and your coloring is terrific! I love the soft blue around with the snowflakes, just amazing!
I have never seen those birds, I wonder if they are mainly in the northwest.... they are all enjoying your bird bath that's for sure :) Great pic!
Gorgeous card. It does have a great wintry look to it. Your coloring is amazing. I have a love birds too They kind of slack off this time of the year, but I know they'll be back. The waxwings are gorgeous too.

Leslie,I love when you take to watercolor-ish cards. This is gorgeous.
What a great Christmas card - did I say Christmas? I also love birds and your little bird is just so cute! It looks so pretty on your cold and snowy branch. What a great picture. It seems like our birds have disappeared. I hope they come back soon.
Wow, this is stunningly beautiful! I love the clever way you added the white too, a gorgeous card!! Beautiful picture of your birdbath 'friends' too!!
I love chickadees....they are pretty common around our house and feeders. This is such a pretty image...and the embossing is dramatic. Your coloring/painting is beautiful, as always.
(I love waxwings, too; they no longer visit after we removed all the juniper shrubs.)
Gorgeous, Leslie! I really love your coloring of the chickadee, and also the wonderful die-cut background. Super wonderful card! How fun to see SO many of the birds.
Oh this is gorgeous! I lovve the softness of the bird and background with those stunning berries. Fabulous photo too... What sweet birds
ACK! Oh my goodness Leslie, this is gorgeous! Love the Liquid Platinum ep, it's one of my go to ep! Love how softly the bird is coloured and those red berries just make this pop! I'm swooning over this one Leslie! Great capture of the Cedar Waxwings. We have some in our yard, but they seldom come down to the water fountain, perhaps they do when we are not around. Love how smooth their feathers are! Thanks for sharing Leslie!
Such a fancy platinum eye on this guy! :-D I think he's beautiful! And oh, those cedar waxwings having a hot tub party! I am jealous of you, I think they're such unique and beautiful birds. I have marveled at their coloring since I first learned of them several years ago. Magnificent creatures.
What a sweet chickadee, Leslie! It's one of my favorite birds and you've colored it so prettily and I love the snowy berries! An awesome picture of the Cedar Waxwings! I've never seen one of these birds and you got an awesome shot of front and back! What a blessing to see outside your door! Thanks so much for sharing!
Oh my...I love this card so much! This bird creation is so eye catching!!! ♥ Sue K
Wow! I adore this bird and I think that the platinum embossing powder gives him a frosty look. Your coloring is as always perfect. Amazing Christmas card as well as that picture of the Cedar waxwings on your birdbath. That is a picture worth a thousand words. Thanks for all of your kind comments on my blog.
Beautiful, Leslie! LOVE this sweet chickadee with berries. I haven't forgotten your suggestion for using Tombow markers. I need to get on that. And also making up my own blender solution using your recipe. I learn so much from you! AMAZING photo of the Cedar Waxwings ... have never heard of that bird. They do look like wax. So cool! x
I share your love of birds, the real ones that visit our birdbath and your artfully colored sweet chickadee. I love the berries and your added snow looks so real, soft and soothing. The rectangle die adds gorgeous detail!
Beautiful card, I love how you have designed and coloured this image too. xx
Have a lovely weekend. x
Now it is me that has garden envy, what a beautiful sight and lovely lush looking garden. You are honoured to be visited by such amazing birds. The funny eye doesn't matter a jot as the rest of the card is pretty special. Love the dimension you have created on those berries and your snow looks very impressive xx
What a sweet card. I love your bird image and coloring. The embossing is so pretty. The Cedar Wax wings are cool. I've only seen them here once and got one halfway decent photo of them so you did great getting yours.
I came from Sue Kment's blog and loved the card you send her as a RAK. What a great picture you got of the Cedar Wax Wings. They certainly do come by the droves. They are fun to watch and then they are gone. We are bird watchers also. It's just now turned cool enough here in Northeast Florida and we're on a great migratory flight pattern so the Baltimore Orioles are back and oh they are lovely. I took a look around your blog. Lovely creations. I'm one of your newest followers. [Bunny]
