Butterfly with Gold

Hi!  Stepping away from the beauty of fall for a moment, I made a birthday card for a blog friend who loves butterflies.  Seriously, who among us does not love butterflies?  My friend is one of those marvelous humans who nurtures and releases Monarchs, and that's why I made her a butterfly card.

The most difficult thing about this card was trying to choose which sheet from the paper pad to use.  It's Craft Consortium Ink Drops, Vivid.  All sheets have the alcohol ink look, many of them with gold.  Come to find out, purple is one of my friend's favorite colors, so it was a good choice.

I lightly stamped a heart pattern all over, added gold glossy dots and gold cord, all on a card base that matches the little bit of blue that shows in the paper.  The scalloped edge was cut with a rectangle die.

That's all for the moment, but I hope to see you again soon.  Thank you all so much for stopping in today!

Stamps:  SU It's Your Birthday and Background Basics  Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White 80 lb, teal textured (SU?), Craft Consortium Ink Drops-Vivid designer paper  Ink:  Versamark, SU Soft Sky  Other:  Poppystamps Bellina Butterfly Collage, Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Stackables, Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder, gold elastic cord, Pink & Main gold Glossy Dots

So beautiful, Leslie! I always find it hardest to make a card specifically FOR someone. It's easier for me to just make the cards and then choose which one from my stash that people will get. You did awesome making the perfect card for your friend!

Beautiful Leslie! Funny story for you...our youngest grandson, Charley found a dead Monarch the other day... he told his mom that he wanted to keep it so it didn't go to waste! So fun! So Charley will be starting a Nature Journal! Makes me smile!

What a beautiful card! Sounds like she does some wonderful things with the butterflies. How cool is that? I'm sure your friend will love it! I just spent almost an hour looking through paper to find something I liked! Of course, Joe's suggestion was maybe I have too many! LOL! The card came together so pretty with the DSP, butterflies, and gold accents!

Those die-cuts and that luscious paper! Oh my! So fun to see you using old SU sets that haven't seen the light of day in my craft room for so long! I forgot about soft sky! Your friend will love you even more now!

Beautiful butterfly card, what a great paper this is too and loved the way you have used it, I am trying and I use that word lightly, not to buy any more paper for awhile as I have a ridiculous amount! I am sure she loved it and am guessing whom it might be for, Shona perhaps?

surprise, surprise that I was the lucky person to receive this card from you. I love it. The colors are so gorgeous. Butterflies are migrating south to Mexico right now, so it's quiet here at present, but I'm working on getting ready for the spring migration north. Oh, I do have six catters that made it past my every day hunt on my milkweed for lurkers. I try not to have any catters past October 1. Hopefully, these will grow quickly and be gone before November 1.

You shouldn't have said that was paper as I thought you had done the background with AIs, it is really lovely. Your bas card colour is very stylish, it finishes it off perfectly. Your friend will be completely thrilled to receive it
