Laugh Louder

Hi there!  A brief pop in today to share a card I made for my sister/friend's birthday.  She's not actually my sister, but she might as well be... we're that close.

I don't know how many more times I can use this Art Impressions Laughing Set, seeing as how I've sent these girls out to so many people already.  I've got a bazillion sentiments I can use with them, and this sentiment is from Your Next Stamp, called Whatnot Sentiments Eleven.  Could there be any more truth in that sentiment?  I do love to laugh!

My laughing girls were watercolored with Gansai Tambi paints, plus the occasional Tombow marker when it was handy for the smaller spots or when I needed a color not in my paint tray.  You can mix the paints to change colors, but the marker is much easier.

It's a simple card.  Just some flower sequins and a stitched border.  So quick it made my head spin!

I hope you get a chance to laugh today.  Take care!

Stamps:  Art Impressions Laughing Set, Your Next Stamp Whatnot Sentiments Eleven  Paper:  Fabriano Artistico Extra White 140 lb hot press watercolor, other card base  Ink:  Palette Noir  Coloring:  Watercolor with Gansai Tambi and Tombow markers  Other:  Lil' Inker Silly Stitched Die Set, Queen & Co sequins

What a fantastic card, Leslie, and just the thing to make your friend-close-as-a-sister laugh just by seeing "the two of you" in this card. I love the way you have bled the background, and done the pretty shading with your Gansai Tambi paints. I am assuming the Tombow markers were a help with their lipstick. I love my Tombow markers, too. It's the sentiment that makes the scene complete. I love our fun cards, and yes, I can see why this stamp would not only be fun to use, but be used often! Thanks for the closeup shot as well! Our humidity has been slightly lower here in the mornings, with temps and humidity in the 60s. It's a welcome change. The crape myrtles are beginning to drop their leaves, leaving hardened purple berry pods behind. I used to spray paint them metallic colors and put them in holiday wreaths and dry flower arrangements. Wishing you a lovely day! xx

Thank you so much for my card as well, I loved it and sent you an email, hope you got it, I am the big 69 tomorrow and next year will be even scarier, but better then the alternative right??

Oh my goodness, love this! A perfect image and sentiment to share with your sister/friend. I'm sure she loved this! Love your loose watercolouring, it's just so perfect for these images. I've tried to do a loose watercolouring but never looks right. The added flower sequins finish this off nicely! As they say 'laughter is the best medicine' and I couldn't agree more! Thanks for sharing this happy, fun birthday card Leslie!
