Double D Challenge: For the Kiddos

Hello there!  The Double D challenge is all about the kids today.  We have a fun board for inspiration...

... and a cute stencil prize for a random winner.  As always, creative winners are by team vote.

The board is full of Disney characters, which I don't have in my collection, but I was inspired by Pooh Bear to pull out one of my oldest stamps by DJ Inkers (or Hooks, Lines, and Inkers -- 1993).  I've used this guy many times in the past, but it's been more than a minute since he last saw ink.  He's just so easy and fun and cute, and he goes perfectly with my Cottage Cutz bamboo frame.

The sentiment is an oldie from Stampin' Up.  The background is a Sizzix 3D folder called Fallen Leaves -- another oldie and one of my most gorgeous favorites that WOWs me every time.  I brushed on yellow and blue inks for a soft suggestion of a bamboo forest.

Just for fun I cut an extra frame and trimmed off a piece for the panda to play with.

The team has some cute cards to share with you on the Double D blog!  If you need a card for one of the kids in your life perhaps you'd like to play along.  We'd love to see you there!

Have a wonderful summer day!

I adore this card! So many wonderful details to take in. That fabulous bamboo die cut frame, and wow, I just love the embossing folder background. I may have to search for this. It all comes together perfectly with the Panda Bear image. Sweet sentiment. A good reason to never purge our crafty supplies too much!

I am having so much fun this season using my older stamps and dies. Your card is a great example of what can be done using older supplies. I love that embossing folder with the cute panda. The best is that sentiment, so true, and framed in the bamboo die cut.

Leslie, gone are the days of Disney - but I'll admit to still watching kids movies as they are usually so uplifting!
Speaking of uplifting: this guy is PAND-tastic!! You had all the perfect products to pair with him, too! LOve that embossing, the bamboo, and every fluffy bit of your bear!

OK, this card is seriously ADORABLE Leslie! Your background is fabulous and WOW's me too! And of course your sweet little Panda is stealing the show, although I don't think he's playing with the bamboo piece you gave him...I think he's going to eat it!! Haha!! Sweet, sweet card my friend and with the perfect sentiment to match!! Hugs. :0)

A lovely fun card and that embossed background is stunning. I have nearly bought that folder several times, but haven't. You might have just prompted me to change that. If it is still available of course xx

I love how you've added color to the embossed background that takes it from just texture to a bamboo forest! And this panda is so adorable with his stalk of bamboo! That's a wonderful sentiment and framed perfectly!

Oh my stars, this is adorable!! There's so many things I love about this cute card, Leslie. The embossed background is made even sweeter by your soft coloring, and that bamboo frame is fantastic with this pudgy panda. This is darling.

Far cuter than Disney characters, and full of sweet personality in that classic Leslie style. I'll wager if Disney Imagineers saw this little guy, they would immediately incorporate him into that delightful Disney magic! Aren'tcha just smitten with the little pink cheeks on this handsome fellow? The tropical embossing folder is lovely, but what really sets the tone are the pretty bamboo accessories. That sentiment is another Leslie-Miller feature, where everything is about the recipient, and making them feel extra special. So darling!
