Pink and Gold Floral

Hi there!  Getting right down to it... I felt inspired to create for two challenges.  It's the same Woodware stamp I used on the black watercolor card, but the look of it here is entirely different.  Both cards were embossed in gold and colored with Twinkling H2O's... the difference in the outcome is striking.  The other was impactful, this one gives the eyes a chance to rest.

Just two colors -- pink and gold.  I had to dilute the pink quite a lot to lighten the color, therefore it lacks shimmer.  That's okay because there's plenty of shimmer in the golden leaves.  The card is 3 3/4 x 6 3/4".  I guess I'll call it a midi-slimline.

I used an ancient JustRite sentiment with a circle punch and made it into a tag.  The Wicker Weave embossing is an old folder.  I can hardly make a card without old meeting new.

The two challenges:

Color Hues Challenge #55:  Light pink and gold.  Such a pretty combo.
Can You Handle the Pressure:  Anything goes with an optional twist of snow (I did not use the twist), but the challenge is the reason for the dry embossed lower edge, and the card is better for it.

Thank you lots for stopping by.  I hope to see you here again soon!

Stamps:  Woodware Floral Wonder, JustRite A Warm Hello Set (retired & out of business)  Paper:  Fabriano Artistico Extra White 140 lb hot press watercolor, SU Whisper White  Ink:  Versamark  Coloring:  Watercolor with Twinkling H2O's -- Egyptian Gold & Pink Azalea  Other:  Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder, gold cord, 1 1/4" circle punch, Cuttlebug Wicker Weave embossing folder

I'm thrilled to see this beauty in our gallery at Color Hues, Leslie! I love the soft pink and all the shine of the gold just makes it stand out even more. The tag and embossed panel add the icing on the cake! I am so with you about mixing the old and the new. There is no better way. You are a pro at it!

i am loving all the pink and gold cards and your is perfect. That is a brilliant stamp for your soft watercolouring technique that you are so good at. I bet the shine is amazing in real life. I got some Gansai Tambi gem colours for Christmas and have had one play on black watercolour paper so far. Love them, thanks for all your inspiration xx

Old meets new is my favorite style, Leslie! As much as I loved the drama of the twinkling on black my eyes are even happier with this sweet, bright, and beautiful pink and gold!
Absolutely beautifully designed card!

So beautiful Leslie! These is just something about gold and pinks, so pretty and elegant. Wonderful card design, love the wicker weave embossed area on the bottom of the card as well. Love the black watercoloured card as well, but this is much easier on the eyes. Thank you for sharing!

Hello there, I love your card and I just adore the previous one. Sorry I haven't been around, typing is so awkward. I have to wear gloves all the time both for the pain and the fact that they are always blue with cold. I dont expect to hear from the hospital for a while given the backlog situation over here... The NHS is in dire straits. However DH and I are doing okay, staying home mostly and looking forward to summer!!I hope you and Rich and your fur babies are well? Gingerboy is better thankfully but the vet wants £3600 to fix Missy's knees! It's just out of the question so she and I both limp but she is happy enough. Stay well my friend

It certainly does look different, I love your soft pink coloring and how you left some of the leaves white, such a fresh clean look to it, I love the gold embossing and the embossing is such a pretty look with it. Love the gold thread you used for the bow too!

Wow, Leslie! Don't they look so incredibly different? I thought I was in love with the previous masterpiece, but this one melts my heart with its softness and love. So beautiful! hugs, de

Such beautiful watercoloring with the Twinkling H20s, Leslie, and the "midi-slimline" size made me chuckle, plus it is genius for adding the pretty embossed panel below. The contrast with the black watercoloring is amazing and both results equally fabulous! Thank you so much for joining us at Color Hues!
