Puppy's Valentine for a Friend

Hi friends!  I hope you're well and having a nice day.  I'm feeling pretty good at the moment seeing as how I've been in my happy place again.  Some new-to-me Cottage Cutz dies came in the mail and I got started right away making Valentines.  I generally avoid dies with too many small parts, but this guy was too cute to resist and really not much problem.  Those eyebrows though... thank goodness for my sticky pick up tool.

I colored him with Copics.  Sponged pink on one of the stitched hearts (Tutti dies) so it would stand out from the background.  The dog looked better on white so I layered another heart.  I love that cute little envelope.  I can use it all by itself any ol' time.  The speech bubble is from another Cottage Cutz set.  The paw prints embossing folder is an oldie.  Gee, this card has just about everything I love most about card making.  No wonder it was so fun!

All supplies are listed below my signature.

I'd like to play along in these challenges:

Sisterhood of Crafters --  Something new.  My Cottage Cutz puppy set is new.
NBUS Challenge #46 -- Never before used schtuff.  Again, the puppy is fresh out of the package.

Thanks for your visit.  I hope you you enjoyed yourself.  Have a happy day!

Stamps:  Stampendous Pop Rose Teacup sentiment  Paper:  Neenah white 80 & 110 lb, grocer's kraft, Prima Julie Nutting designer paper (old)  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Pink Pirouette for sponging large heart, Copics for coloring  Dies:  Cottage Cutz Puppy Love Letter, Cottage Cutz Telephone (speech bubble), Tutti Stitched Nesting Hearts  Other:  Rhinestones, Darice Paw Prints Background embossing folder

All those delightful details! This is the cutest card, Leslie! And not just cute, but an art piece. There is no way that I could have the patience or skill to create an elaborate card such as this. Terrific!

Oh my goodness he is too cute, I can see why you had to get him, yes the picky tool is a nice invention that's for sure. You did such a great job giving the look of fur to him and how neat that you can use the envelope separately. Like your layering of hearts, that little plaid one is the cutest!

He is just the cutest!! A beautifully designed card!! I wondered if you would hit the Cottage Cutz sale, I certainly did and of course I bought lots of 'picky' dies, but I love how they look when finished, those eyebrows, yikes I can relate to the tiny pieces, but look how handsome he is!!

I don't think I've ever seen a cuter Valentine card ever! The doggy and the envelope and the saying are all so adorable! The embossed dog prints go along with the Whimsical theme. I love dogs! I love that you love dogs and I love your card!

Awww!! This little guy just melts my heart!!
I have that embossing folder, it's the cutest thing, all those paws are good for kitties too.
And yes!! those pic up tools, they are invaluable for those teeny, tiny parts.
Thank you for sharing.
Stay healthy and safe.

Leslie, you started with the cutest embossed panel and built it up to the cutest crescendo of a pup! Yes, I can see that your pickup tool would be a necessity for putting all those pieces together but it's easy to see you had a blast!
Love the red gingham with your brown pup!

LOL! What inky fun! Ink on the hearts, puppy, Valentine - REALLY GREAT inking, Leslie! Prior to reading your post, I enlarged your dear puppy's face and was absolutely incredulous at the tiny eyebrows, muzzle, nose - how you EVER got this put together, I'll always admire! LOL I especially like the way you used the die as a stencil around the puppy's belly and legs. SWEET AS CAN BE. So glad you shared what was happening in your happy place! hugs, de

Gosh, I love this puppy card!! You always find the cutest animals. I sometimes make cards for our daughter’s dogs…and have used gift bags or wrapping paper with dogs on them. That’s one way to do it. I’m sure your friend will love this Valentine, Leslie!
