Mintay Makes the Christmas Cards

Hi again and welcome to December -- yikes!  I'm surprised to have a second post this week, but Mintay made me do it.  I have a passion for designer paper as one peek inside my paper cupboard will reveal .  I try not to play favorites when it comes to the paper, but there's quite a lot of Mintay inside that cupboard.  Sometimes you just have to let the art of the paper shine.

I used one 6x6 sheet plus scraps to make two mini-slimline cards.  The first card shows a slice off the bottom of one sheet, stitched with a border from a scrap piece.  I added a Cottage Cutz banner with sentiment.  The deer/snowflake banner is one layer, the sentiment is two layers for dimension.  I sponged the sentiment with SU's Close to Cocoa ink.

The next card shows the top 3 1/2" of the same sheet of Mintay paper.  It has a sentiment banner printed on the paper so I didn't need to add my own.  However, I did add a hand cut ephemera piece backed by a die cut doily and patterned circle.

The first card is definitely my favorite.  I made two of each design, trying to use up this Mintay pad which I've loved well over quite a few years.

I hope we can visit again soon.  Take good care of yourselves so you can stay well and enjoy the holiday season.

Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White (80 lb for card base, 110 lb for dies), Mintay Christmas Stories designer paper  Ink:  SU Close to Cocoa to sponge sentiment die cut on first card  Dies:  Cottage Cutz Seasons Greetings w/Banner, Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily, Memory Box Stitched Circle Layers

I can see why you like those Mintay papers so much Leslie...they're beautiful and you've made them into the most GORGEOUS cards!! Loving both of them, but maybe the 1st one a little bit more...I think it's the contrast between the 2 layers that draws my eye more to the 1st one. Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)

Oh, these cards are so amazing, Leslie! I love the way you've dressed up these papers with your own touches that are so special - the stitching, the doily, and the deer and sentiment. This sure makes me smile, I adore looking at it!

The images and colors in this paper are just so gorgeous, Leslie! I'm always amazed when machine stitching looks so perfect - my machine just doesn't like paper for some reason!
Your die cut prancing deer on card one, and the doily on card 2 are such perfect choices, Leslie! Magical, that's what these cards are! and so very beautiful - don't think I haven't noticed those Poinsettias!

Isn't is amazing how one can make beautiful cards from using these gorgeous paper collections! I love how you stitched the first card together and used the doily to show off the paper piece! I must admit I am a hoarder when it comes to paper. I find it so hard to make that first cut! Thanks for sharing these great Christmas cards! Have a great weekend!

I own a ton of design papers both here in Florida and in Wisconsin. That is a ton and it is my thing. It is what first got me into paper crafting. Every time I see someone use Mintay papers I think that I need that. But to date, I have not bought any and it is really hard. Let me tell you, as your cards are beautiful and look quick and easy to make.
You almost got me, but I did spend a lot on other things recently.

Hi Leslie. Both of your cards today are beautiful. I love that you used Mintay papers (I have so much of this brand, can't seem to bring myself to use it- lol).
It's extra nice when the papers do most of the work. I would have to say the first card is my favourite as well. Love the die cut sentiment banner. The die cut doily on the second card is so pretty. Enjoy your week, take care, sending hugs,
ps .. thank you for the beautiful Christmas card, I love it!

So hard to pick a favorite between these two. They are both fabulous. Love that paper and the reindeer die. I'm a paper hoarder too and love some of mine. Sometimes I hate to use it up because then I won't have it anymore. Is it too early to say Merry Christmas! I'll probably have to repeat myself before the actual day.

Oh how I LOVE Mintay as you know, and you have show cased t beautifully on these cards, those paper scenes were meant to shine on their own and what a clever idea to make slimlines with theme, I will have to remember that for future use! I think I have every Mintay pad of paper there is, sigh!! Both are very beautiful cards!!
