Snowy Scene

Hi there!  Busy times as we wind up toward Christmas, right?  I enjoy all the activities in the winding up period, but I love the winding down after just as much.  We'll get there soon enough.

Between now and Christmas I will have another card or two.  This one was made and mailed a week ago.  It's more than I would ordinarily do on a Christmas card, but it was the last one to go in the mail and it was local.  Yay!

I'm happy the sun was shining as it cast a lot of shadow on the card which really shows the dimension and texture.  I layered some Memory Box dies with an older Poppystamps Boddington Cottage.  The top layer was backed with just a peek of black and popped up on foam tape.  The middle layer has some blue ink shading.

I splattered everything with white acrylic paint for snow.  Even though I used a splatter shield, the paint went all over everything in a large area of my stamp room -- floor, walls, everything on my table, my glasses, face, clothes... you get the picture.  I must be a very vigorous splatterer!

I hope it arrived okay.  I put a little padding in the center and gave it extra postage.  It was a pretty tight fit in the envelope.

I'm going to share today at the Four Seasons Challenge -- Anything Goes Winter.  Their inspiration board is so beautiful!

The Memory Box dies are Evergreen Sky Collage and Tall Fir Collage.

I really appreciate that you took time to stop by.  You're an important part of my happy holidays!

Hi Leslie! I am so happy to be relaxing tonight and oohing and aaahing over this delightful card! Your combination of dies is amazing and the scene is just the sweetest! I love all the layers and textures, even the texture in the blue panel. I am crazy for all those splatters! I get mine everywhere too! But how did your flakes of snow become so nicely rounded? This is just fabulous!

Beautiful, all those layers really show off those dies well, love the little scene you have made, I have noticed a lot of house scenes in cards this year :). Your splattering looks great but it sure does sound like it did a job on more than your card, I have had similar thing happen to me, didn't realize until I was all done. I have a few more cards to get out but was happy to know I had made enough this year :)

Gorgeous as always my friend. The extra splatter is why I never use that technique! I'd be on my hands and knees cleaning hardwood! I love all the dimension of this one!

WOW!! Stunningly beautiful scene!! I absolutely LOVE all the layers and the pop of the red roof on the cottage! The spattering of snow was brilliant!!
Another masterpiece my friend!! Just finished my shopping yesterday, my oldest will be 50 on Sunday so I gathered a few goodies up I used to put in his stocking when he was a kiddo, wonder if any of it will ring a bell with him lol!!

Such a gorgeous card. You did a fabulous job with all the layers and the snow. Sorry about the splattered room and you. That sounds like something I would do. I received your beautiful card yesterday. Thank you for thinking of me. I'm always so happy to receive one of your creations. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Absolutely gorgeous card love all the beautiful dies-cut layers, great dimension and splattering sounds just like me but I hardly get any on the actual card lol.I saw a tip the other day-when sending cards with dimension or embellishments fold the card so the outside is on the inside for posting for protection

Leslie, dare I say you've saved the best for last?? No, because I'll undoubtedly say those words again! But, oh my gorgeousness, this is breathtaking!! I want to imagine myself right into this scene!
It is layered with all the loveliness a person could want in a Christmas card!

Oh my Leslie, this is stunning. Love the scene you created with all the layering of dies and the little cottage tucked in the background! So beautiful. Yes you must be a vigorous splatter, lol, but I too seem to get it everywhere. But the effect is wonderful, a winter wonderland for sure. The recipient will be over the moon to receive such a beautiful card. A lovely piece of art work. I have the trees dies, but I have yet to use them, someday. I mailed out my last 2 cards today as well, but they are locally. I'm so glad to see your post today, thank you so much for sharing, you kept the best for the last. Have a wonderful rest of your day Leslie.

Thanks so much for sharing your stunning card! I'm sure the recipient will so enjoy receiving your card. Your winter scene is so pretty especially with the scattered snow. I have been leery about trying this technique as I'm sure it would be all over the place as well. I will have to get brave and try it out. Joe is having surgery this week and again in early January so I'm not sure how much posting I will get done so I want to wish and Rich a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

These die cuts are all so beautiful and love how this turned out! The splatter looks amazing! My problem seems to be I get splatter on everything else but barely on the card. So I keep splattering and get more on everything around LOL.
Thank you for sharing with us at Four Seasons challenge!

This is very special, Leslie! I love all the depth and the sweet cottage tucked in the pines! Your splatters landed perfectly on the card despite going everywhere else. I have done the same thing with less than perfect results on the card. Thanks so much for the gorgeous white and silver Christmas card! Christmas will be here before we know it!

Stunning, Leslie! I love everything about it. The splattering looks wonderful, but what a mess!! I hope it cleaned up OK from everywhere.

Bit late with my visit to this beauty. It is stunning and as you say the sunshine really shows up the dimension. Your fun with the splatters was definitely worth it as they are the perfect finishing touch xx
