Double D Challenge: Christmas Stockings

Hello friends!  We're kicking off another Double D challenge today.  This time around Diane is asking us to show our Christmas stockings.  That sounds like fun, doesn't it?  Here's a cute board for inspiration:

I'm back to my Power Poppy stamps for this one.  Gee, look at that sunshine in the photo.  As of this writing it's been rain rain rain for several days.

The brick is supposed to represent the edge of a fireplace.  The boughs and bow are decorating the mantel.  I think it was kind of a good idea, but I definitely see things I'd do differently.  A lot of my Christmas cards this year could stand a do-over, sigh.  It's a cute stocking, though, isn't it?

Speaking of cute stockings, check out the prize for a random winner.  How fun!

The team votes on creative winners -- not an easy task, I tell you.  We always have the most awesome entries and it's a treat to look through the players gallery.  I hope you can join us.

In the meantime, enjoy all the team's samples on the Double D blog and say hello while you're there.  Happy holidays!

This is such a lovely card my friend! I do love that pretty stocking and the brick is such a great idea too! It does remind me of a fireplace!

It was a great idea and I adore the white space on your card. I recognized your digital stamps and I will pin this one for future cards. Just look at that shading on the pear.

Your Power Poppy stamped cards are always so gorgeous and seem to fit into our themes like a glove! Beautiful coloring and I see nothing on this card that needs a do over, you are too hard on yourself, it is a GORGEOUS card!!

What do you mean "supposed to"? As soon as your darling card popped up, I thought, "how does Leslie DO it?! She makes a whole scene from the smallest amounts of paper!" It's a beautiful holiday scene, and I love that sentiment in red, too! Loving it, Leslie! I have not even begun addressing my cards yet. Had the cervical procedure on Friday, which has helped the tremors. Today I will strive to hold a pen! Hugs to you, my friend, and more hugs of happiness to you and Rich for the fur children! xx

I don't see a "do-over" on this card Leslie...it is absolutely delightful!! I love your nod to the fireplace with the brick and the garland on the mantle, but that stocking image is definitely the winner! What a gorgeous image and so beautifully colored too! AWESOME card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

Must be something in the air...I am not overly happy with some of mine either. However, all of yours I have seen...you are too hard on your self. They are gorgeous, beautifully designed and sure to make any recipient smile. Hugs.

It IS a cute stocking, for sure! And I love the bricks and the bough and the bow. I don't think you should do anything different with it!

Well, I don't see a thing that needs to be done over in this fabulous card - love it and love how the bricks give it texture. How do you manage to create all your backgrounds when you take a photo of your cards? All your photo skills complement your cards! Love it!
Rain here too but better than snow for us right now;)

Leslie you are too darn hard on yourself. I love your card, they way you did the fireplace ( I would of never thought of this) the glittery greenery and the beautiful coloured hung stocking, what's not to love! A very festive and beautiful card, I absolutely love this! Hopefully the rain has stopped, it's just been cold here no snow down where I live but lots of snow north of me. Have a wonderful day Leslie!

I love your fireplace and mantle with the pine greenery and the placement of your sentiment…very nostalgic and beautiful! I was just thinking today of the Christmas stockings my Mom sewed up for my brothers and I…a simple red striped flannel with red Pom Pom trim. They usually held an orange, some whole walnuts, new crayons and a coloring book. Those were simpler times and such a good memory. Thanks, Leslie, for sharing this sweet card, I love it!!

Hello gorgeous card! How in the world did you get by me?? Leslie, I am so impressed with your creative fireplace and mantle! It was a VERY good idea, and your stocking is the most adorable ever - brings me back to my own childhood when we littles were appeased by our stockings while mom and dad slept a little longer!
So glad I saw this beauty in the DT gallery! I somehow missed it in the FollowIt newsletter!
