Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving (in the US), a safe Black Friday and Small Business Saturday and are onto a successful Cyber-Monday. I stayed home for all of it and spent a little time getting acquainted with my new Lavinia stamps. As the title of this post indicates, I'm totally hooked on them!
Pictured below is my favorite piece so far. All the color... sigh. I keep watching videos and learning more each time. My Lavinia collection is limited, but I guarantee it will grow.
My scene was made on a semi-gloss cardstock. I'm not sure what it's called or where to find it as it was a friend share. It sure was nice to work with. I cut a circle mask for the moon, then blended SU Vintage Violet and Purely Pomegranate for the sky. The snowy landscape is made with torn paper masks and a combination of SU Always Amethyst and Lovely Lilac.
About the moon -- I mentioned the circle mask, but I also stamped a Lavinia moon stamp inside the circle after the sky was blended. I applied light pressure in SU Lovely Lilac and achieved a very subtle and natural look. The masked circle is larger than the stamp, but I added shading around the edges so you don't notice. I'll try different colors and ideas with this and have infinite fun as I go along.
After blending the sky I added water splatters, then white acrylic paint splatters. The nature of Lavinia stamps give rise to all kinds of whimsical possibilities. There are so many ideas I'd like to try. Not selling, just saying.
This is a winter scene, but not a Christmas card. I'll share in two challenges today:
NBUS Challenge #44 -- Never before used schtuff. My Lavinia stamps are NBUS.
Back to a busy week after a few somewhat quiet days. I'm in pretty good shape for Christmas, but there's a whole lot of other life stuff to take care of, too.
Wishing you a beautiful day!

I love the colors, the blending, the splatters, the layout, and of course that wonderful and whimsical looking rabbit! Wow, a gorgeous winter card, the ink blending is fabulous, I can't wait to see what you do with the Lavinia stamps next (I have several myself, that have never seen ink yet)! DRU has them on sale right now for black Friday! I absolutely love every single detail about this scene, I think I have the rabbit as well as some of the cats, you have inspired me!! Have a great week, my daughter and I went to our shop local event in town on Saturday, I had the worse breakfast ever and the best coffee called Rudolph's Favorite, a mix of chocolate, cranberry and nut...yum!! The breakfast is a whole other story!!
Whoops, forgot to say thank you for joining our challenge at The Sisterhood!

You did a gorgeous job with this, the background and colors are just gorgeous, of course the little bunny starring up is too cute. Awesome winter scene!
We had to go out on Saturday after my sister left, our washing machine died and I had to purchase another, hopefully it will be here tomorrow, I have a bit of laundry piling up.

As others have said, this really is an exceptional card! The colors/layout and the rabbit are just perfect! I have no Lavinia stamps..putting a scene together is challenging for me, so I truly appreciate your efforts!
STUNNING card Leslie. The scene you've created is so beautiful with that sweet hare. Perfect sentiment too. The colours ... they take my breath away. LOVE this combination. You are an amazing artist, my friend. xx
Leslie this is amazing, such a gorgeous scene and you have created such wonderful depth with your water and paint splatters. What an amazing moon too. I shall look forward to seeing what else you make with your Lavinia stamps xx
OH WOW! Stunning gorgeous card Leslie. Frame worthy for sure. Love your sky colors and that moon could not be more perfect. You have a lovely eye for design.
This is a work of art.
It is quite understandable how one might become hooked, Leslie! What a spectacular card! I'm loving the red and purple sky, and purple shadows - the torn paper hill-scape, and silhouetted bunny, trees and grasses are gorgeous! curious about that paper - wondering if photo paper might react the same way? Only one way to find out!
My astrophotographer is going to love this moon! I do!

I'm totally in love with that scene you created and with Lavinia stamps. My stash is growing by the week and the scene cards are next on my list. I'll try it on the coated card :)
Can't beat those Lavinia stamps lovley Leslie, I am addicted and have so many including the new sets and masks and inks and oh the list goes on. So beautiful and what a fabulous image too, very exquisite ♥
Oh my word!!! The color almost knocked me down! The entire scene is just wonderful....so "Lavinia." And I think it could be a Christmas card...Just all in all, it's such a stunning card. (Love those SU colors...first time I've heard of them. Problem with me is that I rarely use colored inks except for ink blending, etc.) This is an amazing card, Leslie.
WOW! The colors, the arrangement of images and that moon, have me swooning, Linda! WOW!
Oops! I need another cup of coffee so I know where I am! WOW, Leslie!
This is gorgeous, Leslie!!! Oh my goodness, such loveliness!!
WOW! Your background inking is AMAZING! I would have never thought to use those colors but they certainly work and that moon is so realistic! LOVE LOVE LOVE your overall scene ... you certainly are good at highlighting (something I still struggle with). Beautifully done my friend and awesome inspiration! Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving ... hard to believe Christmas is once again right around the corner! BIG HUGS!
I’m so happy I stopped by tonight! It’s been too long and I certainly would have been upset to miss a card as magnificent as this one! It’s truly magical. The colors you chose are perfect! Glad to see you’re still going strong creating beautiful artwork!
Wowza!!! And more Wowza! Just a beautiful piece of artwork and I agree with all the comments on - how do you part with this card?!!! I have a few Lavinia stamps too but they have been ignored - maybe not for long after seeing this inspiration!!!Hugs
Wow, Leslie, this card is absolutely amazing. So beautiful. Lavinia is a new name for me. Have not heard of it. Will have to check them out.
Leslie, this is absolutely stunning! You have found your new niche, I would say and I can't wait to see more! I looked up these stamps but you've helped me imagine their beauty! This is like being in a sweet dreamland.
Absolutely stunning! Love your design and colours, so festive - love all the splatters too! I can't wait to see more cards using the Lavinia stamps. I bought tons of their stamps the first year of covid, and I have yet to use them. I seem to get intimidated by them, I have watch so many of their videos, seems easy enough, just haven't taken the leap yet. Maybe you will entice me to give it a try. Have a wonderful day Leslie, and as always I appreciate you sharing your beautiful creations.
This creation honestly stopped me in my tracks as I was scrolling my feedly. Not your usually style but oh my goodness you totally nailed it with this wonderful card!!! My favorite card I've seen in ages! ♥ Sue Kment
