Ranunculus Under Vellum

Hello, friends!  It's been a week or so since I did much of anything in my room and that's only because other projects around home needed attention.  When I think about all the stamps and dies waiting for me...
  😢

Then I saw this post by my friend, Maria.  Seriously, you have to see how many colored or partially colored images she has in her pile.  I have two very small drawers of UFOs (unfinished objects), but only 3 colored images I've been on the fence about.  Well, I was inspired to make some very CAS cards, one of which I'm sharing today.

The UFO is the colored image already die cut with vellum glued over top.  The Thinking of You die cut was also in the drawer.  You know how it is... an idea I was playing with that I wasn't sure I liked enough to turn it into a card.  If only the vellum hadn't been cardstock weight.  Turns out I like it just fine and it's already in the mail.

So now I'm linking to the challenge:

Card details are listed below.  Thank you for visiting.  Have a happy day!

Stamps:  Power Poppy Ranunculus digi set  Paper:  X-Press It for image, wood grain textured cardstock for base, cardstock weight vellum, black  Ink:  Printer  Coloring:  Prismacolor pencils  Dies:  Spellbinders Thinking of You Woodland Scene  Other:  Rhinestones, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

I love this CAS beauty. Wonderful colors and design. The black really makes one drawn to the focal design.

Hello there, Leslie: WOW!! Thank you for the shout out, my friend, I'm so happy you got inspired to look for your UFO's to create some cards.
This one is just so beautiful, I love the softness the Vellum lends to your colorful Ranunculus, the bold sentiment really draws your eyes to your sweet image.
I'm making a lot of progress, I've been creating a card a day with all of this stuff, hope you have a chance to go take a look.
Thank you again, my friend.
XO
Maria.

I don't think I have many...when I get frustrated with something, I tend to dump it in the trash. Coloring the back of vellum results in such pretty creations. I love the soft ranunculus framed in black. (When I think of all the stamps and dies in my messy room...I grow very weary. :-))

Fabulous, Leslie. the wood grained card stock is perfect for the the muted flower background. I love that Thinking of you Die. Is it Spellbinders?

Love your card Leslie, CAS and beautiful. Love the ranunculus in the background diffused by the vellum, so pretty, and the striking black Thinking of You frame! Really like the wood grain card base, just adds that extra bit of interest and your 3 little gems. I'm sure I have some UFOs in my basket I could turn into cards, but not as many as Maria! I'm glad you found a bit of time to whip this one up. Always happy to see your cards. Have a great day!

Doesn't it feel good to find a home for those UFOs? This is lovely and the die cut is a perfect fit! I believe they made friends in your drawer! LOL!

How nice to be able to use up some of your UFO's! I like the card using the vellum and the die cut goes with it perfectly. I checked out your friend's blog and she does have a lot of UFO's! Too many projects going in my life. I finished the one for my daughter just in time. I'll post it this week - I hope! We are enjoying getting out more and spending some quality time with the family. Hope all it well and you can get camping soon!

Hi Leslie, this card is so lovely. Not sure if you colored your image softly or that is the vellum lending that to the image - but I love it all and the die frame draws your eye to your so beautifully colored flowers. I hope you get to find the time to make more stunning cards from your UFOs! Hugs

The vellum over a background you are not sure of is a great idea, that die works great with it, framing it nicely and I love the little touch of texture that paper gives to it also!
We have a few projects that need our attention to, not sure when they will get done though.
Have a great week!

Sweet card Leslie. Love the vellum over top of your image. You only have 3 coloured images in your stash ... you are so good! I have boxes and boxes of leftovers ... I will never get through them all. :) xx
