Peaceful Time

It's a most wonderful thing to sit in the garden on a quiet spring morning and listen to the birds in the trees, and that's why I find this Penny Black mini-set aptly named as Peaceful Time.

It's another new to me stamp, purchased with the matching die which makes it all the more versatile.  I've not always gone for the matching dies in the past, but that's going to change.  It's so much easier, especially when it comes to those inner parts where I need to use a craft knife.

I embossed the bird in black and watercolored very simply with my old SU Watercolor Wonder Crayons.  For the background and frame I used two different watercolor pieces which were made ahead and sitting in a drawer.  Having all kinds of spare backgrounds sure makes a card come together quickly!  Even the ivory card base was pre-cut.

Moving right along, I'll have another pre-scheduled and very colorful card on the 15th.   It's a busy month!  Enjoy your day!

I can see why you love this stamp! It makes a gorgeous card! And I know what you mean about matching Dies. I have several that go with my Stamping Bella stamps and love them. Hugs, my friend!

Wow, your watercoloring skills are amazing! I'm always so impressed by your cards. They can be flat as a board and easy to mail and still just reach out and grab me. That is a great quality to have...one that I just don't have. I love your style!

I love this stamp and the name couldn't be more fitting. You've captured the sweet serenity with your softly colored background and frame. The simple sentiment is perfect and the bird stands out like a jewel. I'd say you've done this new stamp proud, Leslie!

This is gorgeous and I LOVE your design! Yes, I too have become very fond of the matching dies to my stamps. I'm pretty handy with my swivel craft knife but the older I get the more I find my fingers cramping up when I'm fussy cutting so I've been opting to purchase the matching dies when available! Dag-on old age! LOL Lovely summertime colors my friend ... thanks for inspiration!

So very pretty, Leslie. I've had my eye on that bird, too; it's a wonderfully versatile image. You've watercolored him beautifully. Love the background and frame as well. Seriously pretty card. Was just out in my garden a few minutes ago. Two of the granddaughters came and weeded, and it's all looking so nice. Easier to see all those baby birds too! Bev

Hi, Leslie! Your "Peaceful Time" bird card is lovely! Great idea to have the wonky frame, with tree leaves peeking from behind - definitely casing that design idea! I always smile and sigh at the usage of color in your creations, and this one is particularly pretty. There is something magical about PB products, and then, with your talented fingers, they become even more magical! Thanks for the inspiration today, and for sharing your beautiful card! hugs, de

It is indeed a peaceful scene with that wonderful bird image. And you colored it so perfectly as well. It looks so fantastic against that background you made for it too.

This card is so adorable - I really like Penny Black stamps. And you are right - dies are so much better than fussy cutting tiny items! It's nice that you have spare backgrounds laying around. Every morning now the birds wake me up with their chirping! I love to listen to them. This AM we also had a fawn at our bird feeder! Love this time of the year!

Oh Leslie, be still my heart! This is beautiful! Your pre-made background is so perfect as is your frame. Love the green foliage in the corner and your watercoloured bird. I don't always buy matching dies either especially if it is something fairly easy to cut out by hand. I always look forward to my days off when I can grab a cup of coffee and go sit out on the deck to listen to the birds in the early morning. So peaceful! Thanks for sharing today Leslie, always love your artwork! Enjoy the rest of your day.

Leslie I so agree with you, there is nothing like a cool morning, when all is quiet and all you hear is the sounds of the birds singing, Love it! This bird is so sweet and love the coloring, I do like how the matching dies work with them but only have a few sets like that. You mentioned preschedule, hope that means you are out and enjoying some more travels in your camper.
