Hello there! I'm playing in another of Darlene and Diane's challenges today. This one is Triple B -- Birds, Butterflies & Blooms. Choose one or include all three.
I chose blooms because I love the frosty pink rose in the inspiration photo. My rose is pink, but not frosty. However I did add a touch of sparkle and an icy glaze. I suppose I got a bit carried away. Not sorry. I dry embossed the Lisa Horton Peony Rose Stem on watercolor paper and colored with Tombow markers and homemade blender solution. The soft stenciling in the background was mostly covered up with the wet embossed edging. It was more edging than I'd intended but I decided to be okay with it and call it "vintage".
Continuing along the vintage lines, I smooshed the whole panel with Versamark ink and heat embossed with ultra-thick embossing enamel. After it dried I bent and cracked it, then smeared with Memento Toffee Crunch ink to accentuate the cracks. Wiped off excess ink.
The die cut sentiment is embossed with Ranger Enchanted Gold powder. There is more sparkle to it than shows in the photo. I shadowed the sentiment with brown cardstock then adhered to the glazed panel with Aleene's Tacky Glue applied with a plastic toothpick.
I've used this folder many times with and without the die and I think I like it best without. After all this time I finally ordered more Lisa Horton 3D folders and hope to use them without delay when they arrive. The best intentions... it's one of my plans for 2024 to not let the new things sit so long before I use them.
I'm happy this one helped with the Triple B challenge. I'm thinking on which of Diane & Darlene's challenges I'll do next. As you probably know, it's my personal goal to do all of them this month. I'm not sure how that's going to work out but a girl can try and have fun doing it.
Thank you for visiting today. I'll see you again very soon!

Another stunning piece of artwork Leslie! Love the vintage feel to your card, those roses are coloured to perfection. It's been years since I used the ultra thick ep, but I love how yours turned out. Good moto to have for 2024, can't wait to see what else you come up with, with your new Lisa Horton 3D folders. I think today might be a indoor card day. Winter storm since Friday, wind chill feeling like -24C (-11F), the wind gusts are up to 43 km/hr last night they were 70km/hr.
Thanks for sharing today Leslie, amazing work you do!
Absolutely gorgeous and so creative with all the embossing and the glaze, the Peony Rose stem really sets off the background and looks so real!! I have a few Lisa Horton's I haven't used yet either and also a goal to do so as I order and not just let sit. Thanks so much for entering our challenge at Triple B and also for your goal of all the others, we appreciate it so much, I know you can do it!! Oh, and scrapbookdotcom just released a bunch of NEW Lisa Horton's!!
This is beyond stunning Leslie! You perfected "vintage" on this card. I so want to give your techniques a try. I love the shine and how you enhanced the cracks with ink. The gold around the edges just adds to the vintage feel. I'm going to have to dig through my embossing folders to see what I have to give this a try. Good luck on your goal to enter all of DD's challenges. What fun!

Simply gorgeous, Leslie! The coloring is amazing, as is everything about it! Good luck with the rest of the challenges, and enjoy your new folders.
wow, gorgeous vintage effect with the embossing powder and that peony is so pretty xx
I love that dreamy look that you got on your roses. They look better than frosty. I needed a close up look at how you did that gold antique look, and it is amazing. I must keep that in mind for inspiration. All in all, you are on a roll.
You are doing pretty well with your challenge and there is still loads of time left. I do love your card and all the work you have done to make it look so cool. Love the gold embossing and that shine. I don't own any of Lise Horton's embossing folders yet. I am sure that will change eventually, especially if you keep making cards like this with them xx
