Lavinia Pheasant

Hi!  I didn't want to let the month slip by without having another try at a Lavinia card.  So here we go -- lots of color, a hilly landscape.  I'm thinking it's earliest spring, just like here.  All the trees are not leafed out yet.  A little bit real, a little bit fantasy, a whole lot of fun.

My card is 4 1/2 x 6 with Stampin' Up inks blended on Stathmore Mixed Media Vellum Surface cardstock.  The colors are fairly limited -- just green, blue, magenta, plus the neutrals.   The black is Memento Tuxedo Black.  The tree trunks were colored with Copics.  The landscape is a mix of die cut curves and torn paper for masking.  I keep several masks in a drawer and use them over and over.

After the scene was complete I gave it a little spritz with shimmer/sparkle spray.  Not sure you can see it very well in either photo, but it's pretty in real life.  The sentiment is retired Power Poppy.

There's always something more to learn with these stamps and I'll keep at it.  I'll list the Lavinia stamps below.  I'm glad you could stop by today and I hope to see you again soon!

Lavinia stamps:  LAV092 Pheasant, LAV643 Tree Stem, LAV505 Spanish Moss Foliage, LAV530 Skeleton Tree Scene, LAV097 Birds, LAV151 Slender Mushrooms Mini, LAV679 Foliage Set, LAV695 Foliage Set 2

Gorgeous. That is a new stamp company for me. I have never heard of them before. You used all those stamps to create such a beautiful scene. It just shows how much you can do with little.

Oh wow that is a stunning scene, I would say you have mastered these scenes already :) I love the rolling hills, the vine look to the tres, the birds flying off in the distance, that fence with the pheasant is so cool, I can imagine the sparkle really gives it that extra special touch to it!

Your sentiment says it all. A beautiful card for a beautiful day. I absolutely love it. We have enjoyed a really lovely spring day today. They have been few and far between this year, so I made a point of appreciating it and took a walk in a bluebell wood. It was stunning. Just like your card xx

Not only is it a beautiful day for a beautiful day, but a beautiful landscape too! Your inking is so smooth and beautiful and that pheasant looks like he's enjoying it as much as I am!

Leslie, this is extraordinarily beautiful! I'm seeing this gorgeous hillside from the Pheasant's eye view and know exactly why he stopped right here on your fence post! 'Go on, you blackbirds, this is my magical woods!'
I would have loved having you along on my shopping trip in Buffalo - she had entire display of Lavinia - I could only imagine the magic you would have made with it all!
LOve the limited colors - makes those silhouettes POP!

SIGH... There is nothing quite so lovely as a Leslie card. Look at these triumphant colors. (Are you Mother Nature in disguise? I think so). Like your backyard oasis, the colors and textures on your card are serene and peaceful. I feel like I'm with the pheasant overlooking the beauty. I really like how you've greatly highlighted the hill tops. You definitely beautified my morning with your "it's a beautiful day for a beautiful day" masterpiece, Leslie. I want that sentiment! LOL Figures it is retired, right?

Squeel! OMG Leslie, this is absolutely stunning my friend! I can't stop looking at it. Wow, wow!! So calming and so realistic! Your scene is amazing, with all of your blended colours, rolling hills, trees, ground cover and of course the pheasant! This is a piece of art that should be framed. I have been wanting this pheasant stamp since I first saw it a couple of years ago, but unable to locate one. I am in 'awe' over your card Leslie. I don't have many more words to say except 'stunning'! You are mastering the Lavina stamps. I hope to see more of your creations using these stamps!
