Final Twofer Challenge: Dog/Cat

I just had to put everything else aside and make time to play in Darnell's Final Twofer Challenge.  We all know how Life requires us to step back from extra responsibilities now and then, and Darnell has made the most wise decision for her.

The theme this month is Dog/Cat.  I recently searched Amazon for oldie Inkadinkado woodblock stamps and purchased a small variety.  I could not resist this Golden Retriever puppy because it looks exactly like both Wally and LuLu at that age.  I'm using it for the first time here.  I have a hugs/thinking of you card and a new puppy card.

I'm making an effort to use more of my patterned papers.  I just finished going through every bit of it, sheet by sheet, pulling out the sheets I don't care for, and keeping only what I love.  I could not believe all the fabulous papers I've been overlooking, tsk tsk.  The puppy hugs card below is a quite mix of patterns.  I used a sketch I saved on Pinterest... easy and fun and a favorite thing to do in my stamp room.

The new puppy card below is not my most favorite card ever.  I like the idea of a new puppy card, but this one is too much of a good thing.  Just saying... things happen and then no time to start over, you know?

I'm not listing supplies because the list for two cards would be forever long.  I do, however, have three things that are being used for the first time:  Inkadinkado Puppy, Amy Design Baby Carriage, and Cottage Cutz Picket Fence Mini.

Twofer Challenge #41, Final Challenge -- Dog/cat

NBUS Challenge #29

Thanks so much, Darnell, for 4 years of a unique and fun challenge, and thank you everyone else for dropping in.  It's been fun!

Awh, what a sweet puppy, Leslie! I love how you've used the patterned paper in such an interesting way and that pretty pink flower that frame your first pup! How sweet to put her in a baby carriage to welcome a new arrival! Sounds like you're getting your craft room back in order! So glad you could share in our last Twofer Challenge!

Your cards just made my day! They are so cute! We left on vacation today and my daughter brought a carriage for Daisy to use on our trip. She just loves it just like your little puppy! The DSP and dies go so well together! I'm trying to go through my DSP as well. It's amazing how much you can accumulate! Have a great weekend! Daisy likes her bone as well!

Both cards are wonderful! I love thelittle puppy stamp and I can see why you had to have it! I really love the stroller. My sister actually purchased one of the strollers for my two girls. I used it to take my little Bella to the nursing home to visit my neighbor when she was there. Of course that was way before Covid!

What a cutie that pup is! And you've used your patterned paper so well! I just bought 4 more 6x6 paper pads and I didn't need any .... I have a bin full of patterned paper pads. I just can't resist them.

You're welcome, Leslie, and thank YOU for all your support over the years and for being an outstanding member of the DT for a while. You have always understand the concept and executed it brilliantly, just like you did on these two sweet golden pup cards! I don't care how much pp or color or details or texture, for me it will always be the golden that captures my eye and you made that easy with these designs that centered squarely on the puppy! Well done! And well done going through ALL your pp, sheet by sheet ~ been a while since I've done that. Thank you, too, for sharing with everyone at NBUS! I hope LuLu continues to do well. Hugs, Darnell

Oh Leslie, you did have to get that stamp, how adorable and I love the mix of papers on the first, I love using my patterned papers and you have used a lovely mix of them that's for sure. I love your little background with him and the pretty flowers and leaves to frame it!
I was going to say that the puppy in the carriage was a fantastic idea, it is just so sweet. Love your use of the hearts and the grass with the fence is a cute touch, I like how your ribbon separates it, just goes to show what we don't care about, others may just love!

Awwwwwww...both of your cards with the puppy are absolutely ADORABLE Leslie!! I know what you mean about all the DSP...it does have a way of multiplying at my house, but I love that you've made a dent in your supply and used it perfectly on both of your sweet puppy cards!! They are both so cute, but I really, really like your new puppy card...I think that is an awesome idea and he just couldn't be any cuter sitting in that baby carriage!! Thank you so much for sharing both of these delightful cards with us at the final Twofer Challenge...we've always loved it when you've played along!! Hugs. Marcia (DT) :0)

You can tell I am not really a pet person because I have never seen a new puppy card before, but there is always a first time for everything1 Great twofer and well done for using your pattern paper. I have stopped buying it because I very rarely use it on my cards, but somehow I would still buy it! xx

I have never seen two more interesting layouts and use of papers. I love all the details that you added to the cards. We had a black lab, but she never looked that innocent and was more likely to have the kitchen rug between her teeth shaking it vigorously than sitting in a baby buggy. i love the addition of the fence and grass to the heart... unexpected but really works.

First of all, I can not believe that you went through your patterned paper sheet by sheet! Oh my gosh!! But, good for you. I went through one drawer of mine and gave away tons, but I have five more to go through. And that is just my 12 x 12. Your cards are both so cute. Such an adorable puppy - just like Wally and LuLu were (and are!)

Gorgeous Twofer, Leslie. I like the cute little puppy. It looks wonderful among all the patterned papers you've used on the hugs card. Good idea to sort papers. I also have a huge amount of patterned papers, but my mojo always disappears when I want to sort papers. :-) I especially like the idea of your second card. It is nice and wonderful. To put a puppy into the baby carriage is so cute! Thank you for joining us at the final TCC. Hugs, Sonja

Adorably cute cute pups and beautiful card designs!! The pups remind me of my babes when they were little imps! Great idea to go thru your papers and pull the ones you will never use, I definitely need to use mine more, especially those Mintay!!

Awwww. Now this little guy is too sweet. These are both darling.

Oh my, both of these are so adorable! I can see why your were drawn to this image.
Your design layouts are beautiful, lots of papers and details, I've always loved that about your cards. Good for you for sorting your papers one by one, it would take me a week or better to go through all mine, but I did tell one of my good friends that I need to go through and sort out what I know I won't use and pass it along. A wonderful submission to the final Twofer Challenge! Have a great week Leslie!

I have always loved your takes on the twofer challenges, Leslie and this one is adorable. The dogs really do look like Wally and Lulu. It's great news to me knowing that you want to use more of your papers. I love the ways you combine it with patterns and layouts on your cards.
