CAS Mix Up Reminder -- Stamping Through Stencil

Welcome, friends!  Due to home circumstances I missed out on the initial post for this particular CAS Mix Up, but I'm here for the reminder today.  This is stencil month for us and Jenny is hosting a cool technique -- stamping through a stencil.  It's a lot like masking, which has always felt magical to me.  I love the moment I lift that mask and see how things turned out.

Check the CAS Mix Up blog for instructional video links.

When I made this card my stamp room was still a disheveled mess from our renovations and everything I pulled out made things worse.  However, one day I was visiting a friend and, long story short, I ended up making it at her house with her things and, goodness, was I ever grateful!

I'll admit I made this in a hurry -- quick choices, quick work -- but that just goes to show it doesn't have to take all afternoon to make a card (the way I so often do).  I used two different splatter stamps because, honestly, I couldn't get any of my other choices to stamp through the stencil.  It was just a bit too thick.  This is a definite "try again" technique!  You'll be inspired to try it, too, when you see all the team samples.

We're fortunate to have two very talented guest designers sharing their skills this month -- Bobby and Michele.  Thanks so much for visiting today!  See you again soon!

I have been so inspired by all the DT examples using this technique, which is so nice because I did struggle at first. I now think it is pretty amazing. I often take all afternoon and then some on one card, I am so slow, but it just goes to show that it doesn't have to be that way. Sometimes just getting on and doing something works just as well. This example proves that. Hope things are settling down for you now xx

So pretty. That bright green, the spatters...just gorgeous. Then you made it even better with the teal stripe and sentiment diecut. Whether it was quick or took hours, it's stunning.

How gorgeous! I’ve never done this technique before and it looks amazing! I am a chartreuse-green-turquoise combo lover, so it is especially eye catching! I never think to create a vertical element when arranging my cards, and yours always makes the artwork stunning! Beautiful, and thanks for sharing. Hugs, de

What a cool technique - I'll have to give it a try! I recently made a couple cards again using stencils, but no stamping through them. I love the simplicity and the colors of this card. Great job, Leslie! I'm glad you were able to have some creative time with a friend - always awesome.

Gorgeous card. I find it easier to craft when I have a friend along -- so I am grateful for the many facetime crafting sessions Peggy and I share.

Leslie, I've been looking forward to seeing your card! It IS hard to stamp through those thicker stencils, but you've added just the right amount of stamping to these pretty stenciled leaves! Hello beautiful!
