Welcome, friends! Due to home circumstances I missed out on the initial post for this particular CAS Mix Up, but I'm here for the reminder today. This is stencil month for us and Jenny is hosting a cool technique -- stamping through a stencil. It's a lot like masking, which has always felt magical to me. I love the moment I lift that mask and see how things turned out.
Check the CAS Mix Up blog for instructional video links.
When I made this card my stamp room was still a disheveled mess from our renovations and everything I pulled out made things worse. However, one day I was visiting a friend and, long story short, I ended up making it at her house with her things and, goodness, was I ever grateful!
I'll admit I made this in a hurry -- quick choices, quick work -- but that just goes to show it doesn't have to take all afternoon to make a card (the way I so often do). I used two different splatter stamps because, honestly, I couldn't get any of my other choices to stamp through the stencil. It was just a bit too thick. This is a definite "try again" technique! You'll be inspired to try it, too, when you see all the team samples.
We're fortunate to have two very talented guest designers sharing their skills this month -- Bobby and Michele. Thanks so much for visiting today! See you again soon!

I have been so inspired by all the DT examples using this technique, which is so nice because I did struggle at first. I now think it is pretty amazing. I often take all afternoon and then some on one card, I am so slow, but it just goes to show that it doesn't have to be that way. Sometimes just getting on and doing something works just as well. This example proves that. Hope things are settling down for you now xx
Beautiful card and stencil-great technique although must admit my try went in the bin!

Good to have friends to save the day!!! Your card turned out awesome i love the look!
Isn't it great to have crafty friends? And even better when they're near to us and let us share their stuff! Love the stenciled leaves with the stamped splatters! Your color choices are great! Hope you get your craft room all set up and organized soon.
lovely card. love that leaf stencil. I even think I have it too... have a great day
My favourite stencil! Your leaves are almost glowing - great sponging and the stamping is the perfect finishing touch!
So pretty. That bright green, the spatters...just gorgeous. Then you made it even better with the teal stripe and sentiment diecut. Whether it was quick or took hours, it's stunning.
Adorable card and great stencil and colours. xxx
The splatters certainly add interest to the overall design of your fabulous stencil, and the colours look so vibrant!
Now yuou have me wondering do I have any stencils in my stash. I used to but I'm not sure anymore. Love the colors you chose and it just makes a very lovely card my friend!
How gorgeous! I’ve never done this technique before and it looks amazing! I am a chartreuse-green-turquoise combo lover, so it is especially eye catching! I never think to create a vertical element when arranging my cards, and yours always makes the artwork stunning! Beautiful, and thanks for sharing. Hugs, de
What a cool technique - I'll have to give it a try! I recently made a couple cards again using stencils, but no stamping through them. I love the simplicity and the colors of this card. Great job, Leslie! I'm glad you were able to have some creative time with a friend - always awesome.
Fab colours Leslie and a lovely make - I have tidy limited supplies - and have the chaos to look forward to! x
Gorgeous card. I find it easier to craft when I have a friend along -- so I am grateful for the many facetime crafting sessions Peggy and I share.
Leslie, I've been looking forward to seeing your card! It IS hard to stamp through those thicker stencils, but you've added just the right amount of stamping to these pretty stenciled leaves! Hello beautiful!

Love your card Leslie, beautiful stencil work and pretty colour.

Your quick CAS Stamping through a stencil card turned out beautifully, Leslie. I love how you used the splatters thru your stencil and love this stencil, which I have...yes, you will want to use this technique again:-) Love and Hugs...P.S. Love your colors too...
