Farm Scene

Hello and happy Friday, friends!  Just a little something I colored for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge -- "On the Farm"  -- for March.  Wait, what?  That was two months ago.  At that time I pulled this stamp out thinking it was my one not-yet-used Penny Black stamp that looked somewhat farm-y, and then I don't know what happened, but I didn't get it done until now.  That's the way it goes in my stamp room -- I'm easily sidetracked.

I'm enjoying my playtime with last year's Penny Black stamps before I start on the new Penny Black.  This one is from the Scent of Spring set.  Looks like someone's been gathering eggs.  Stamped in Memento London Fog and colored with Copics.  A little gingham and wood grain helps with the countrified look.

Down home at the Miller residence Sophie is happy to be helping in the garden.  See her smile?  She's my sweetheart.

Playing along here today:

Penny Black Saturday Challenge -- Monochrome or Anything Goes

This is darling, Leslie! What a sweet farmhouse image, colored to perfection. Sweet Sophie is adorable in front of your beautiful azalea bush. How do you get it to bloom so profusely?? Mine has blooms along the bottom, but no where else.

Well shucks, sorry you missed the March entry, but so happy you shared it with us! Loving those spring blooms and that darling touch of plaid you added to the bottom. Speaking of spring blooms... Miss Sophie found the perfect lace to pose!

LuLu is sharing her beautiful flowers with Sophie...what a cute pic! I love your Penny Black Ensemble. Coloring is superb and how clever to stamp with London Fog Memento. I learned something new! It's always such a treat to see your posts show up in my email. I'm glad you still create beautiful cards and I wish I could sit in your garden one day with your beautiful Sophie. xxx

Oh I just love the combo of things in this stamp, terrific coloring and great sentiment to go with it. I agree that the gingham border, jute and the distressed wood piece compliments that stamp very well and finishes off the card beautifully!

What a great Spring card! I don't know which I love more the little birdhouse or adorable Sophie. Our Daisy is going to have a little sister to play with. They pick her up next week which is good as Jennifer will be out of school soon!

Gorgeous card with bright and cheery colours, Leslie. Definitely looks farm-like, especially with your mix of fantastic patterned papers. LOVE Sophie ... and her beautiful white coat just pops against all the hot pink flowers. So beautiful. I can see her sweet smile! :) xx
