Chickadees

Hello and happy Friday to you!

One recent day I was at Simon Says Stamp looking for something else entirely when I spotted the Chickadee Gathering embossing folder.  Well, it had to come home with me as birds are one of my many weaknesses when it comes to craft supplies.  I embossed on hot pressed watercolor paper and watercolored with Tombow markers and Stampin' Up reinkers.

There's a die for the birds which gives slightly more dimension.  When the coloring was finished I had another go at the white splatters.  I didn't want it to look as if it was snowing, but with the splatters and the large white sentiment I hoped to lighten up the overall appearance.  The Thinking of You sentiment is an older one, also Simon Says Stamp.

I'd like to play along in some favorite challenges today:

Triple B -- Birds, blooms, and butterflies.  Use one or all.  It seems I almost always use birds for this challenge.
NBUS Challenge #74 -- Never before used schtuff... that's my Chickadee Gathering embossing folder.

I'm heading out to the garden now.  The weather has been beautiful and I'm planting pots and puttering in the backyard where the deer can't go.  There's much to be done in the rest of the garden, too.  I'm hoping this spring and summer will be better than last with no unfortunate surprises.

Take care and enjoy your day!

Absolutely beautiful, such a pretty Springtime card. I have been working in my gardens and love listening to the birds chirp and sing and being on water we have LOTS of birds (and some snakes too...eeek!), anyhow I LOVE this gorgeously designed card.

Love that fabulous embossing folder and so beautifully coloured. Fingers crossed for a better Spring and Summer all round. Just had son in hospital again earlier this week with same thing as he went in with at Christmas-spent three days in there two on a trolley in A&E then one day sat on a chair in a small room with just two chairs then came home as no beds available-couldn't even find a Dr to discharge him before he came home!!!

Such a pretty card with the little birds, soft colors and your splatters look great. Mine always turn out too big. I love watching the birds come to our feeders and bird bath. I'm ready for a pleasant spring and summer as well.

Perhaps because they are so tiny, chick-a-dees are the most enjoyable to watch? They jump around, seemingly excited to investigate out every nook and cranny in the shrubs and trees! Pure darlingness. But your card is pure gorgeousness! What great use of the blue tones and green highlights! One thing I never tire of is checking out every little inch of your cards to see how you have shaded, or chosen bursts of color. And ALWAYS ALWAYS oh-so-classy in their sweetness - how do you even manage to combine the two? On an aside -- I can't think why the manufacturers of chickadee images neglect giving them feet. I wondered if their little legs were so short that their feet don't show. But the chickadees here have legs and feet that show no matter what they are doing, unless they are resting in their nests. Soooo, do you know the answer to that great mystery, Leslie? LOL Wishing you a lovely MD tomorrow. hugs, de

This is so lovely. The embossing really enhances the image and your beautiful colouring. Hope ou had a successful session in the garden. I have spent a lot of time in mine over the last week. I hope that it is showing, but we have been very dry and absolutely everything is desperate for water. There is no rain in the forecast for the next week xx

I can see why you would want to grab this one, you do such a beautiful job with your coloring of them too, neat that you can cut out the birds and use them differently if you want, the plattering is just perfect.
I sure do hope you can enjoy a lovely summer.
