Hello there! I took a short blog break over Thanksgiving time and then kicked off December with some scheduled posts. Our son was visiting, which was very nice, but otherwise it feels like I'm going a lot of different directions, so... break time. I'm much better now, thank you.
While I was away from the blog I made a few Christmas cards focusing on the not-yet-used Christmas themed deer dies and stamps in my collection. I have to say I had a lot of fun with it. Today I'm sharing two cards using the Poppystamps Whittle Forest Reindeer Kit. It's dated 2021, but please don't tell me it's been in my NBUS basket all this time, sheesh.
Pictured below are deer and trees from the kit. All other dies, including the sentiment, are Poppystamps as well. I dressed up the trees with white acrylic paint and microfine glitter. Put the scene on a plum card base which I embossed with the SU Subtle embossing folder. The hills and clouds are fit together rather than layered. Just making sure to keep it under one ounce.
For the next card I framed the scene, but have it spilling out of the frame as well. The inside is set into the frame, rather than the frame sitting on top. Again, keeping dimension minimal and weight under an ounce. Woodgrain cardstock base. I especially love the Impression Obsession Birch Tree Rectangle (frame). I'm sorry that Impression Obsession has gone out of business. They had good dies and stamps. This frame is new to me. I can tell it's going to be a favorite.
Challenges today:
NBUS Challenge #69 -- My never before used schtuff is the Whittle Forest Reindeer Kit and the Birch Tree Rectangle.

I love them both Leslie....so FUN and whimsical!! And great idea to make it look layered but is actually fitted and only 1 layer! Those whittle deer are just too CUTE and I love the whittle trees too! Sweet, sweet cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)
Both are cute... Have a great day
I have always loved these Whittle deer, but I too am shocked they are from 2021? Two adorable Christmas/Winter scenes, Leslie! You'll pardon me now as I am going back in for all the marvelous detail you always add!

I love the scenes you've given these adorable deer, Leslie! Those frosted trees and puffy clouds were the perfect backdrop for the little family. Then there are those two in their hats... they just make me smile so much! I forgot to use them this year. Hmm, maybe I need another card! Gosh I'm so sorry I missed out on that birch frame from IO, it's fantastic. I'll miss them too, they did have some great product, didn't they.
Both beautiful cards, love all the cute dies and your new frame is beautiful too.

Two lovely forest scenes with these deer, Leslie! I may have some NBUS that go back longer than 2021. Sheesh! I'm glad you have used these deer. Both of these scenes are great and keeping them under an ounce and not too thick is so important with the price of postage!
I love the rustic feel of these cute deer. The clouds look great, and how did you ever think to use that plum card base, so cool. That frame in the second one is the best and I love the hats on the deer too. It is good to take a brake and come back refreshed.
I love them both! They are so adorable and I'm glad you are feeling better!
Your cards are amazing, Leslie! You sure do wonderful things with dies!!
These are adorable, I have always loved the cute whittle line and you made the cutest scene with them. I like how you are using your 'deer', I am hoping after the holidays that I can grab a die book and just start in, same with stamps, anyhow, totally awesome as always, did you hit the cottage cutz sale? I actually didn't this time as I have so much I haven't even used yet!!
These cards are so cute!! Love the deer with the snow covered trees. Your second card stands out with the neat frame. This will definitely be a keeper. Have a great weekend!
I am so glad to hear your son came for Thanksgiving, and that you took a little break when you needed it :)
The deer are just too cute, like the snowy trees too.
i will have to say that frame is my favorite, that scene is just adorable with it and I like how you have it coming out of the frame too!
You have created such great little scenes with those dies. Really lovely dies. I hope you enjoyed your time with your son. Your scheduled posts meant we didn't notice you being missing! xx
These cards do look like they were fun to make, Leslie! They are unique and so you. I especially love those cute deer wearing hats for their winterland framed photo!! Glad you had a lovely visit from your son and a well-deserved break. Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Happy Holiday Hugs, Darnell
Two beautiful cards Leslie, do miss my Poppystamps dies xx
Two adorable scene cards using mostly die-cuts Leslie. I love the fun designs that had me smiling. :) xx
two sweet cards, those little whittle deer are adorable. I especially love the second with your distressed log frame ♥
oh so super cute! The hats steal the show everytime! lol Darling cards Leslie!
Two super cute cards here Leslie! I adore the whittle deer scene you made and think it's so clever of you to keep it all one layer. I especially like the playfully set snow capped trees. Your second card is equally adorable! I adore their hats. This was the first I'd heard of IO going out of business. I'm hoping to hear that it was a recent decision, not to prove that I really do live under a rock. ;0) I'll miss them. They had some great dies!
Ooh you have created the most cute scenes on these gorgeous cards, Leslie! I love the texture in the designs and I bet they were lots of fun to make.
Hugs
