Double D Challenge: Green/Clover/Shamrocks/Luck

Hi, friends!  'Tis the month for green and even though St. Pat's day has come and gone, here at Double D we're still enjoying the color and a few other things normally associated with the day.  Green/clover/shamrocks/luck -- they deserve more time!

When I was little my brother and I spent plenty of time on a sunny day searching through a clover patch for that lucky four-leafer... feel the sun, smell the fresh green, savor the companionship.  Of course, it was commonplace then, but it's a cherished precious memory now.

Every day we make new memories and this little Mudpie House Mouse is one of mine.  When I first started stamping -- way back near the turn of this century -- my son gifted me a few carefully selected woodblock stamps for my birthday.  They mean a lot to me and I'll never purge them from my collection.  I had a good time coloring with Copics and playing with paper from the Memory Box 2023 Magnolia collection.

I punched hearts for some shamrock embellishments.  Added gold pearls, trim, and sentiment to coordinate with the gold in the patterned paper.  Cut a layered scallop with Fiskars Paper Edgers (scissors).  Does anybody still have those?

I mixed up the sentiments and I think it's okay.  It's my intention to use this as a birthday card with a sentiment inside that brings it all together.

Come join us on the Double D blog.  Read more details and see the prize.  The team has some fabulous cards to show you.  It'll be fun!

Take care of yourselves and I'll see you again soon!

Super cute card my friend. I have always been a fan of the little house mouse and this one is adorable! I still have clover in my yard...most say it is a weed but I do love it and allow it in my yard! Have a great rest of the week!

Such a sweet card and love that brought back such wonderful memories. My sister's and I used to do the same thing! We had LOTS of clover, living in the country and on a farm. Although I don't recall but a couple of times that illusive 4-leaf lucky clover popped up for us! LOL Your cards are always beautiful and an inspiration ... love this one!!!

Wonderful memories and I would have a hard time purging them also :) This is just adorable, such a cute stamp and terrific coloring, I love your shamrocks made from the hearts too, pretty papers and love the scallop border. Yes I do still have my scissors and still use them too, more now with my junk journal :)

This card is adorable Leslie! I love your use of patterned papers and that darling HM image is colored up perfectly. What a clever idea to use hearts to make a clover as well. I always get so much inspiration from all of you. I'll have to try to remember these tips for future card making.

I have much the same memories, Leslie! We must be of a generation of kids whose best friends were their siblings, right? [I also remember the heartache when my brother went to school and found 'boy' friends to hand out with!]

This little mouse is the luckiest to live with you - so darling and beautifully designed and colored!

I love these stamps as well and this one is just adorable! It's amazing what can bring back such joyful memories. I love how you tied everything together and your coloring is gorgeous as always. Jennifer has already started looking for 4-leaf clovers. She has been pretty lucky and has quite a collection. I entered my
shamrock card over at Double D's as well.

I love these stamps and haven't been able to part with any that I have either. You have colored so beautifully and I LOVE the papers and your Four Leaf Clover made with hearts! We are lucky that you shared this with us, Leslie!

I can really see the love that you had as you made this card remembering the time with your brother and the special stamps that your son bought for you. I really like how you coordinated the plaid and the flowers in your papers. Also your coloring with copic markers is spot on. Just look at how you colored the clover I am jealous. P.S. I got rid of my Fisker paper edger scissors. Maybe I should have hung on to those

Just gorgeous, Leslie! Mr. Mouse is adorable maneuvering his way through the clover on the hunt for that four leaf delight. Beautiful patterned papers and I love all of the gold, especially the embossed sentiment The flowers you made from hearts are awesome too. Your coloring is always spot on and amazing! I, too, have many happy memories of hunting four leaf clovers with my siblings.

I am glad clover brings back happy childhood memories. I can remember spending time trying to find 4 leaf clovers. I don't remember ever succeeding though! Love how you have put together all those greens on this card and that cute house mouse with his rosey cheeks shows how special the 4 leafer is. Great card xx

What fun, Leslie! First the memories, then that sweet house mouse stamp! When we camped a few years ago, our daughter and friend discovered a patch of 4 leaf clovers! Not as pretty though as your embellishments! I love the mix of sentiments and fabulous papers too!

Leslie, I don't know how I did not see this post earlier in the week. But... so glad I came across it. Wow, love this card, love everything about it, from the image, papers, all the little add ons, it certainly is one of a kind! You have such a wonderful eye to pull this all together. I love hearing your story about you and your brother, such wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing my friend!

So cute and wonderfully colored. How nice to have such special stamps. And green is my favorited color. I started almost at the turn of the century, also. :-) And yes, I still have my Fiskars decorative edged scissors. LOL!
