Double D Challenge: Hot Drinks

Hello friends!  Back to Double D fun today!  Darlene is challenging us to do something with Hot Beverages and has given us a warm and delicious mood board for inspiration.

I don't have a lot of beverage stamps, but I do have a favorite oldie that I pulled out for this challenge.  I chose a fall theme and warm colors along with an old JustRite sentiment which is, well... just right.

Whenever possible I'm making an effort to work with my vast hoard of designer papers.  These were a friend share, not labeled, so I don't want to hazard a guess as to who made them.  They are beautiful and have been hoarded too long.  The wood grain piece is printed with leaves and flowers, but I covered the flowers with die cut leaves for a more fall-ish look.  The dies are Spellbinders oldies, except for the Hemstitch frame.  By my standards it's new.

Lots of oldies here, including me, ha!  Hey, I was young when I started blogging.  Has it really been that long?

How about popping over to the Double D Hot Beverages challenge to see some inspiring samples.  I hope you'll enjoy playing along!

Stamps:  A Muse Three Cups, JustRite A Warm Hello set  Paper:  Fabriano Artistico Extra White 140 lb hot press watercolor, SU Perfect Plum textured, scraps black, designer paper (Our Daily Bread?)  Ink:  Palette Noir, SU Kiwi Kiss and Close to Cocoa  Coloring:  Tombow markers and blender  Other:  1 1/4" circle punch, Sizzix Leaf Veins 3d embossing folder, Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles and Floral Flourishes

This is stunning Leslie! I am on the same mission as you, to use up as much of my old design paper as possible. The printed leaves add a nice touch on the woodgrain background and the leaves you added on top add color and texture. A beautiful card for this challenge!

Oh Leslie my friend, this is gorgeous! LOVE the leaf printing on the wood grain (bet I could stamp leaves & color them on some of my old wood grain papers ... hmmm ... [wheels turning lol]). Your overall design with the warm beverages, fall leaves and warm wishes is just perfect! How wonderful would it be if we were sitting together chatting enjoy a hot cup of cocoa and looking out over your beautiful state (or anywhere for that matter lol). One day my friend ... hopefully, one day! In the meantime, please stay safe and keep inspiring us with your gorgeous creations. HUGS & HAPPY DAY to you!

Me! Me! I remember! I'm an oldie, too! (giggle) That paper was waiting for its time, and you found it perfectly! Looks amazing. Just Right had so many pretty images! Loving the purple additions, pretty autumnal goodies, and those beautiful dies! I can smell the hot cider! (not a coffee or tea drinker LOL) hugs, de

What a great card you created for the challenge. It seems like we all need something warm these days and the leaves go perfect. Just right had a lot of goodies to chose from. I too am trying to go through my stash of paper. I am trying hard not to buy any new. We had our first snow/sleet yesterday so I am trying to prepare myself for what is coming. UGH!!

I'm imagining hot buttered rum in those cups, Leslie - though I've never had one, they always sound delightful, and delicious - just like your card!!

So stunning and elegant, Leslie! Wow, I love the background and vine embellishments. Your steaming cups are a great focal point. I have a few Just Rite stamps in my stash that are gathering dust. Overall gorgeous design!

Love What looks like to me like hot cups of tea, but your cup would be coffee:-) All your Designer papers worked out perfectly..especially love your woodgrain designer paper. TFS. I will check out the challenge:-) We were much younger when we started our stamping craze together..25+ years ago and before that it was our love of gardening, which we both still do:-) What a fun and wonderful sharing journey, dear friend. Love and hugs...and wishing us both many more years of creating on paper or in the dirt:-) Nancy

I got the fall feel immediately! Great background and additional leaves around your images. This is a good way to think about papers that are so pretty but should not be in my stash. Make a card!
