The Next Batch of Christmas Cards

Greetings friends!  I'm happy to say I've made another batch of Christmas cards.  I mentioned previously that I'm done with Halloween for this year, but I did use a Halloween die set for these cards.  It's the Memory Box Rickety House.  New this year.  It's featured in all the cards so I'll share them together.  It's a time saver so I can get back to making more cards (😉).

I won't go into a lot of detail because we'd be here forever.  The dies are mostly retired probably.  I pulled out a lot of dies and papers for all these cards.

First up we have landscape dies, a polka dot sky and a trio of houses with a fence line down front.  The little heart in the sky was already there in the paper from something I'd made in the past, and I decided it looked just right in the scene.  The front sentiment, "Christmas Greetings" (old Hero Arts), has a companion stamp inside, "From our house to yours".

Card #2 has a Snowfall embossed card base of sanded Core'dinations-type cardstock which SU retired.  Of course I had to make a yellow house. The house and the fence sit in the snow.  There's something about that fence line in the landscape that really appeals to me.  The Cottage Cutz sentiment is layered white on blue so it will stand out.

The next card in the line up is the one that started it all.  I had planned to work with the Sizzix Woodlands trees, but it grew.  The house and the fence, the stars and the moon turned it into a whimsical and fun scene.  I know it doesn't show up well in the photo, but the sparkle on this card is pretty spectacular.  All done with glitter paper.  The red is shimmery metallic.

One thing I'll mention about this card is the crescent moon.  I made it with punches.  Punch a notch in the edge of cardstock.  Then position a larger punch over that notch to punch the crescent moon shape.  Any size.  I used 3/4" and 1" punches.  Circle dies would work too.

Finally, the last card is the simplest of all.  It's a 3 1/2" x 6" mini-slimline with nothing other than the house and fence, the sentiment, and some old-timey Memory Box designer paper.

There was another card which I'm not so sure how I feel about so I didn't photograph it.  It may be up for a redo.  We'll see.

Well, that's all folks!  As you can see, the sun was shining through my stamp room window.  It's such a nice sight to see between our much needed rain showers.  The weather has been off and on which is pretty much just right for this time of year.  I hope all is well with you.

Sending good cheer from our house to yours!

4 very pretty cards Leslie. I am so glad the sun shone when you were taking your photos as it has made them look really special. I have been struggling with the light for my photos, it is another sign of winter coming, which is so depressing for me. You have definitely cheered things up for me with these cards though. Love them all xx

LOVE your cards, Leslie! This "halloween" house is so adorable and perfect as the main focal of your cards. LOVING the snowy backgrounds and hills ... and the little line fence is AWESOME ... will be emailing to ask who makes it. The colours and patterns you've used are each so perfect for the individual designs. What fun you must have had putting these all together. :) And what fun it's been to see them! Love, Loll

Oh these are all terrific, aren't you clever using your halloween houses, I never would have known if you hadn't said something, I love the bright colors, such cheerful greetings. I agree there is just something about a fence with a house that finishes it off :) The trees in the background on the first is so cute along with that heart, finishes it off nicely.
I love the snowfall background in the second and the popping up of the sentiment. I have a nice big monitor so I can see all the shimmer on your 3rd card, great way to make your own crescent moon for a wonderful night winter scene! On the last card I just love how that paper made the perfect background to your sweet house, like the curve in the fence too, gives it more character.

I adore little die-cut houses at Christmas - I always choose one and dream about living in it with my favorite crafty friends in the neighboring houses - this year, I'm living in the yellow, with you in the red, and all our crafty stuff stashed in the blue!
All of these are extra fun, Leslie! So much to love - the fence is such a wonderful addition to each!

What a great bunch of cards you made. I love the little house die you used. It always amazes me how one craft item can be used to turn out so many different types of cards. I also love how you coordinated the landscape dies with the houses. Your yellow house looks so neat in the fence line! You are definitely on a roll making Christmas cards. We had a busy weekend with Jennifer's friends birthday party Sat., her family party here today and then she will be back for treat or treat night tomorrow. Thank goodness we don't have to go to work tomorrow!
