Sparkle and Shine

Hi friends!  Christmas cards today, easy and quick.  These are part of a batch of nine I made recently.  No progress since then, but I have hopes of making more soon.  I'm trying to finish up a few fall things first.

I actually like the first two cards quite a lot.  They're prettier than their pictures.  You know how that goes.  Lots of white and sparkle.  The Tutti designs Arched Fir die has been in my collection a few years but it never gets old to me.  This year I ran it along a curved border.  One card with lots of white and a silver metallic edge over a panel of dry embossed snowflakes.  The red glitter sentiment is a new-to-me Cottage Cutz die from their sale list.

The next card has a silver sparkly branch over a purple sparkly base.  This purple DCWV glitter paper has a soft grain with a delicate appearance.  It also has a vinyl-like backing that makes it impossible to die cut so I have to think of other ways to use it.  The sentiment was cut from a different purple glitter paper that cuts just fine.  I lost the "i" dot from the sentiment so used a tiny snowflake instead.  I like it!  Clear gems embellish the first two cards.

Next up is more of the DCWV purple glitter paper showing through some die cut snowflakes.  I positioned the Cottage Cutz Snowflakes Set right back into the negative panel from which they were cut.  I hope that makes sense.  I double-layered the snowflakes for dimension.  Silver sequins and a silver-embossed sentiment on this one.

Pictured below is another version of the same design with shimmery vanilla cardstock on a copper metallic base.  Small copper glitter die cut snowflakes were added for embellishment.  The sentiment is embossed with vanilla embossing powder.

Most of my supplies are older, but the Cottage Cutz Snowflake Set and the die cut sentiments are new to me this year and I'm using them for the first time on these cards, so they will be playing along in Darnell's NBUS (never before used schtuff) Challenge #43.

Thanks for stopping by!  I will see you again a couple more times this week.  Take care and have a happy day!

That is a bummer that paper doesn't die cut, I bought what I thought was smooth glitter look wrapping paper and that stuff doesn't cut either, not sure why, I love the curve of the branch and how you have it working with the curves in your cards. I am always losing the dots to my i's too, I like it with the tiny snowflake.
I like how you kept the base for the snowflakes and add the dies back into it.
Wow 9 more cards that is pretty good, I usually only manage the most 5 cards a month.

beautiful selection of sparkly Christmas cards. Glitter paper backed with a plastic is such a pain it never cuts properly :(
I must get going with some multiples :)

Love the garland placed in a swoop! One of my favorite layouts! Sometimes that glitter paper can be tough to die cut but it sure looks pretty cut like this! Gorgeous snowflakes too! Can't wait to see more!

These are all gorgeous, Leslie!! I love what you did on all of them. Congrats on getting some more done. Progress. I have some of that soft, glittery cardstock that can't be die-cut. So pretty, but mostly good for matting - and for showing through die-cuts.

Lots of inspiration here Leslie - and I have also had the sudden thought that I might need quite a lot of Christmas cards quite soon!! I particularly like the arched fir die and the way you used it in the top two cards and can see that all the sparkle and shine will make them even more special in real life! Vicky x

Gorgeous cards, such a creative way to use that Tutti die, thanks for the inspiration on that! All are creatively beautiful!! Thank you so much for my beautiful birthday card too, I will treasure it and keep it always! This was a big milestone birthday for me, 70, yikes!! We were at lake house but both sick so we cut it short and came home, we are still getting better, hopefully!!

Oh I love all of them, but especially the first two. I had some glitter paper like that and I managed to peel off the vinyl backing so I could cut it. Thank you for sharing at NBUS.
