Ghosts in the Forest

Hello again!  It seems I've had this card made forever.  While I had the stencil out (for a previously posted card) I went ahead and made another background.  I covered white cardstock with orange ink first, then laid the stencil over it and sponged black ink.  It's a lot of orange and black whereas I generally like bright colors for Halloween cards.  Who knows?  I'm never exactly certain what's going to come out of my stamp room.

These are new-this-year Memory Box dies, except for the fence which is an older Impression Obsession die.  I don't know what I was thinking with the stencil.  Let's imagine it's a spooky forest with a harvest moon casting an eerie orange glow on the twisty trees.  You think?

I'm playing along in two challenges today:

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge.  There's a super cool inspiration board, but it's always anything goes Halloween.
Stencil Fun:  October, Halloween colors.  This is a brand new challenge which I had in mind when I made the card, but I'm slow to get it posted.  I'm sure I'll enjoy playing in this challenge often.

That's all the Halloween for this year.  Onward to Thanksgiving and Christmas.  It's such a busy card making time of year.  Enjoy your week and your crafting!

Inks:  SU Only Orange, Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper:  Black, Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White  Dies:  Memory Box Ghosts in the Forest, Boo Posh Script, Cross Stitched Frame Borders, Impression Obsession Beach Fence  Other:  Visible Image Fibres stencil, Doodlebug Halloween Sprinkles, foam mounting tape

I don't think it matters what the background really is Leslie...it is SO cool looking with just the orange and black and really eye catching! And a perfect spot for your ghosts...they look right at home in that background! Loving your die cut sentiment too! Sweet, sweet card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

Leslie, I think you composed this card beautifully. You've made the orange and black much more than two dimensional.

These two colors are very spooky and I love the effect. The ghosts are great in the forest of the orange and black trees. It looks like the wind is blowing that all around.

The background you created for your sweet little ghosts is fabulous, the orange and black combo is just perfect for Halloween.
The fence in the foreground really gives depth to your little "scary" scene.
Awesome job, my friend.

Love this one, I would say your stenciling turned out really cool, I like the twisting with ghost, you know how they twist when they fly :) The fence in front is a really cool touch to it!

Hi Leslie, sorry I have been missing for a bit. Love your card using this die and stencil. It is a spooky forest, and love how the ghosts appear to be flying - wonderful job on this card! I don't usually make too many Halloween cards, some years non - but you always inspire to to do so. As always, thank you for your inspiration. Have a great weekend!
