Hello to you! I finally made it back to the blog after a rather long, unplanned absence. Everything is okay, but the spring garden and cleaning bug bit me and I got distracted. I know better than to let card making go too long because the next thing you know I've gotten out of the groove and it's hard to find it again.
I was happy to see the Power Poppy challenge is back and Bloomie Christine has decided to make it a "Blossom Challenge". Each month there will be a different theme but will always include flowers. Players must use a Power Poppy stamp -- digi or clear.
These Love One Another May flowers were already printed up and sitting in my digi box. Just add color. I had cropped it quite a bit but not this much, sheesh. A coloring failure (ahem) resulted in the necessity to excise one tulip in order to save the rest of the image. Hence, all the flowers were cut very closely and glued on. You can hardly tell in the photo, but it's more obvious in real life.
Coloring was done with Tombow markers and minimal use of my homemade blender pen on hot pressed watercolor paper. I stenciled a brick background and added a sentiment from a retired Power Poppy clear stamp set. The card is a mini-slimline at 3 1/2" x 6".

What a gorgeous card you made for the challenge. The flowers are colored so beautifully. I can't see any coloring failure so you did a wonderful job fixing it! The brick stencil did such a great job to fill in the background. Thanks for your visit and lovely comments! Enjoy the holiday!

Love how you combined stenciling with this.
Such a gorgeous card. I love the background you stenciled and the flowers came out just perfect. Glad to see you back again. My gardening has taken a back seat to school classes for awhile. I had my lawn guy clear out the flower beds and add mulch, so at least they look good.
Ah Leslie! I’m so happy to see you jump in on the challenge! This is dreamy. You would never know what happened in the “excluded parts” Gorgeous all around! The shading on the watercolouring is so smooth! Totally classy! Thanks so much for playing along with us! :)
So beautiful Leslie, your colouring always blows me away. The flowers are incredible and love the touch of stenciling ♥

Wow! another amazing card Leslie! I love when you watercolour, everything just blends so perfectly. Love the stenciled brick as well. I would of never known that the flowers were cut and glued on, you did an excellent job in the recovery of this! So happy to see your card today, but I do understand and trying to find your groove again. Happens to me a lot! Thanks for sharing a beautiful card Leslie, have yourself a fabulous day!
This is so beautiful! I love how the bricks fade out and let the flowers take center stage. Gorgeous delicate coloring on those spring blooms!!
It's a gorgeous card Leslie, pretty colours and the stencilled brickwork set it off perfectly, Robyn
I trust you'll let us know when things are amiss, Leslie - glad to know you're a-ok and getting your 'chores' out of the way so you have lots of time to play!
I so admire the work you girls do with these digital stamps - my crappy printer just can't handle the proper paper for the job. That's okay - I'm just as happy to see your coloring! The brickwork was a clever backdrop for your pretty garden.

Hi Leslie, I'm so happy I found you (again). Gorgeous card, too! I'm so glad you shared your artistry. What an inspiration!
Wower! I think you did a great save on this card. I would never know they were cut apart, but a good idea. You got great colors and depth with your tombow markers. Another idea from you as my distress markers have gone dry.
Oh this is GORGEOUS. I love the subtle background.and those flowers YUM. Have a great day
Always happy to see what you have created and this card is no disappointment (not that your creations could ever be close to that)!! I love your coloring skills! The design of this card is awesome - the softness of stamped flowers and the texture created by the brick stencil - love it!!!
Your colours are wonderful and I love how you have coloured those flowers. I wish I had half your skill at colouring. What a lovely idea to use the brick wall as a background and to fade it out, it works brilliantly. I hope you feel all up to date with your chores and spring cleaning, wish I was! xx
Your blooms are so gorgeous and I love the brick background too! I have also been missing in blogland...we are in process of moving so I have most of my posts pre scedualed for may and half of june. Just making a few rounds tonight b4 I get back at it!
Having to trim this design a little didn't detract from it at all, Leslie! It's beautiful and I love that it goes off the page so I can imagine the beauty beyond!
Welcome back, Leslie! (Sorry to say that I didn't even miss you, since I've been away, too! LOL!) Your coloring is amazing! Bummer that you had to cut away one of your tulips, though. Great save - your card is perfect!
Oh my it is quite gorgeous, I like how it is going off the edge like that, makes you curious to see more :) The coloring is beautiful and I love your stenciled background with it, great cutting out, can't even tell.
Glad you have been enjoying your gardening and it is that time to do some spring cleaning better to do it when you have the want too, that doesn't always last long for me :)
Well you're not the only one who's been missing, I finally learned how to comment using voice control so my fingers get a rest.Your card is absolutely stunning! Then again I love everything you create. Enjoy your garden Leslie
You card is beautiful and you are too hard on yourself, if I was that hard on me I would never ever be able to post LOL! But all that being said what a beautiful array of flowers and colors, stunningly beautiful as is the stenciled background!! I m glad to see you back at it, it has been over 5 weeks since I have created anything, luckily I work months ahead so most of mine are scheduled thru August anyways, like you I have been outside working in my garden of weeden, then my grandson had a wedding this weekend so was busy with that, now we are preparing to head to the lake house for a few weeks soon, busy busy!!
