A Mouse for Two Seasons

Hello again!  I want to say first how I appreciate all your comments on my previous post regarding to blog or not to blog.  I'm never sure what each day will bring, but isn't that the way for all of us?  Truthfully, it's my connection with this crafting sisterhood that keeps me coming back here.  I'm really not sure what I would do without you, so for the time being I carry on and today I have two cards I made with my edger dies.  These cards were made in either January or February, sheesh.

They're subtly patterned with very little contrast.  It's what I was feeling at the time and I still like them.  When favor endures it's a good thing.  I've always found that, for me, simplicity and subtlety have longer lasting appeal.

The first is for springtime.  This Toadstool Mouse Edger die is probably meant for fall, but I think it looks right at home with the daffodils and yellow (my favorite color).  The mini-slimline measures 3 1/2 x 6.  The paper on this one is 49 and Market Sweet Reflections - Butter.  I applied some old-timey self-adhesive rain dots for embellishment.

The next card feels more like fall and is one of the first I made when I was experimenting with design ideas.  Ultimately I decided less is more and even the string and tag feel like too much.  Each to her own, right?  Most of my fun with these edger dies comes from combining them with designer papers.  Some work better than others.  On the card below are older papers by Prima.

Even though I made these cards a while back, it was a first time use and today is a first share, so I will send a picture over to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #37 for the month of April.

Additionally, I'm playing in a new-to-me challenge:  Colorful Options.  It's a color challenge and this month they're asking for yellow!

I wish you all a happy spring.  It's so good to see the flowers blooming!  Till soon...

So glad you know we are here for you whenever you feel up to posting, so glad you haven't stopped sharing your wonderful creations.
I just totally love both of these beauties, I say they work great for springtime cards and even though you know my love for 49 and market I just love the second card too, just as much :)

I LOVE these, especially in the yellows which happens to be my favorite color as was my Mom's and yellows always make me think of her! I was just looking at this moue edger die yesterday, but had to draw the line somewhere on my order so left him (for now)! Yes you can't quit blogging, what would we do without you and your beautiful creations, you have quite a following that would be very disappointed and upset (me included)!! Our Spring flowers have started popping their pretty little heads up, though they have been covered in snow more then once, I am so ready for SPRING to actually get here and STAY!!
Have a great and creative week and thank you for joining our fun challenge at Colorful Options!!

I love the subtleness of these too. Contrast is wonderful but there are times when it is the last thing you want to see. I love how you have used your patterned paper so cleverly with on these cards and it is so nice that you are using and enjoying your edge dies. Blog as much or as little as you like, it doesn't matter. we will still be here to enjoy your crds when they appear. Thanks for the info on the colourful options blog as it is new to me too. I can see why you had to enter that one with your love of yellow xx

Leslie on a warm Spring day I love nothing more than tromping through the woods on the backside of our dunes and am often surprised by a fun mushroom sighting - and sometimes a mouse/chipmunk dashing across the path! My point? They both make me think of Spring!
LOve the bright yellow, but also the creamy whites!

Great to hear that you are sticking around blog land. Love both of your cards. The daffodil yellow is very Springlike. I don't know if that's what the color is called, but it is what it reminds me of from home. My question is what size envelope do you use for these? Do they fit a regular-sized business envelope?

This little mouse is so cute! I just how you put together these adorable cards! I don't think I could choose between the two of them, so I'm glad you shared both of them. I think the tag and twine looks great! Don't worry about posting so often. I haven't posted in a while myself-life gets in the way. I so love to see your posts whenever. You have such a wonderful talent. I wish I was closer so I could craft and learn from you. Life is calling to make dinner. Rachel us coming for dinner after her class so that will be fun!

Oh Leslie, these cards are so deliciously gorgeous, the colors are cheery and bright and we can't help but smile.
Love the colors and the mice, you know how I love little mice😉
Im so happy you shared these cards wit us today, I too smile when I get a notice that you posted on your blog.
I totally understand that Life has a way to "interfere" with our plans and that's OK, how boring Life would be if we know what's going to happen tomorrow.
This sisterhood as you called it, is a loving, understanding, compassionate place to come and share our love for card making and also, a place for all of us to connect with each other about all the other aspects of our lives.
Keep your blog going, we will be here.
Hug yor fur babies from me.
Take care and stay healthy and safe.

Leslie, you know I am a fellow yellow lover so these two are a joy to gaze at. I love how you've managed to use two differing patterned papers to make these fabulous cards. I am going to have to steal that technique from you. Lol. Hugs.

These edger dies are awesome Leslie! LOVE the first one with the bright yellows of spring. So happy and fun! Second one looks fabulous too with the subtle earthy tones. Wonderful cards, my friend! xx

These are both absolutely beautiful Leslie! I am really loving how you are using the edgers with designer papers. I love them both, and I think this edger works for both spring & fall! So delightful to see 2 more of your creations! You know I love when you create. Yes, it's so nice to see some of the greenery popping up through the ground. Next week looks pretty nice here considering how cold it's been (rain & snow mix yesterday) the last few weeks. I'm ready for Spring! Take care Leslie, sending hugs,

I'm always glad to see your name pop up, Leslie. Love, love, love this sweet die and you always find the best papers! Two fun cards, my friend!

Both cards are lovely and I love that sweet die! I continue to blog even though I don't receive a lot of comments anymore and mostly I only post on Wednesdays for Heartfelt Creations and Once a month for Four Seasons. It does keep my hands and my mind busy and out of trouble so I soldier on at least for another year.

That die is adorable, Leslie! You always enable me with your unusual and fun dies. I love the way you have paired it with the pp in both designs and I like the twine and tag on your twofer! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! It's nice to finally get back to the Playhouse and do some visiting. I do love to see you getting some creative time to distract you from life from time to time. When our personal lives and the world go all topsy-turvy, it's nice to create little pops of joy in the world! And that's what you do! Hugs, Darnell

Oh, what a cute die!! Your cards are so pretty and the colors are perfect. I'm happy that you are finding some time for blogging! I hope you can continue. I keep thinking about stopping, but I agree with you - it's my contact with certain people and I would miss it.

When I get busy and see a post from a friend that I want to comment on, I place a star next to it and usually get to it soon. But in this case, it got lost in my star pile. But I just wanted to tell you that I love this technique that you have with these dies. You did so much more this the dies than just pasting them on a card front. I learn so much from you and I am inspired.
P.S. I just gave my husband a birthday party, he celebrated 80 this year. It was a success, but I am pooped.

I am so behind on commenting but I just had to say how totally adorable both of these cards are. You always find the cutest dies to use on cards and this one is awesome. Love both the spring/fall looks you created with it.
