Mermaid Tail

Hello and happy Monday to you!  Now that we're six days into September are you feeling a change in the weather yet?  It might be all in my head, but to me it seems different already.  The air feels more crisp, the wind has died down.  That's what I love about fall here on the Oregon coast -- no wind!

However, today's card is not meant to convey any of those fall feels.  It's all about summer and sunshine and beachy days when you just might spot one of the magical creatures pictured below:

I've combined Mintay papers and Impression Obsession stamps.  Both have been with me for a while, but it's a first time use for the Mermaid Tail and Make Some Waves sentiment.  I can't stress enough how I love to play with paper, and it worked out pretty well on this mini-slimline (3 1/2 x 6 3/4).  I've been loving this size card for a lot of years.  Very handy sometimes!

I colored with Copics and sparkled with Wink of Stella and Stickles Diamond glitter glue.  The sequins are called Soft Mint -- just a touch of  color.  I hand cut the sentiment flag and added mint-colored ric rac trim which reminds me of an ocean ripple.

I was truly shopping my stash when I made this summery card so I've linked to the challenge here:
Shopping Our Stash #453 - Summer Lovin'

Right from the get go it was my plan to play here:

And, since the stamps are being used for the first time (finally) I'm linking to Darnell's challenge here:

Just having fun.  Wishing you a good week and a chance to have a little fun yourself.  Thank you for your time today!

Stamps:  Impression Obsession Mermaid Tail and Make Some Waves senti  Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White 80 & 110 lb, Mintay Paradise designer paper  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black  Coloring:  Copics  Other:  Wink of Stella, soft mint sequins, ric rac, Memory Box Stitched Circle Layers

Love this pretty pretty card, the colors are so summery beautiful!! Yes the air certainly has changed here at the lake, much cooler and the I like the wind as it stirs up the lake! Enabler alert: New Mintay paper pads are out, I purchased mine as a pre-order at A Cherry On Top as they give 20% off all pre-orders and each pad was also a dollar less to begin with then I get from our usual place plus they have 'normal' shipping charges, just sayin!!! Oh and thank you for joining our challenge at Double D, with all my 'babbling' I almost forgot to add that lol!

So, so pretty, Leslie! What a great combination of papers. Love the awesome coloring of the mermaid's tale, too. Yes, the weather has definitely changed around my neck of the woods. It cools off so much at night, and it's getting dark so early. I love it. :-) I've made some of these size cards for a long time, too.

This is so fun and joyful and definitely speaks of summer and sunshine, Leslie! It's that time of year when we can lean into fall and then jump back into summer when the temps shoot right back up again. I call it pogo stick weather and remember how hard it was to get dressed for the office when the days started off chilly when you left the house and were blazing hot by the time you came back home. It's so nice to be retired, lol! Thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell

What an adorable card. I love the mermaid in all her glory! All your DSP goes so well together and you know I love the ric rac trim! I haven't made any slimline cards yet but I think this size is great! It is still nice and warm here which I'm enjoying as well as and peppers from the garden our tomatoes. I hope all is well with Lulu and Wally!

Lots of sparkle in your fun creation, Leslie! And yes, those papers are incredible together! You have such a way in your cardmaking. From the first time I visited your blog, years ago, til this day, I always admire the ingenuity and unexpected aspects in your pretties. This almost reminds me of a quilt! The delicate bit of pink peeking from behind the "hombre waves", the magical floral paper that appears to be swaying with the waves, the cute sentiment - it's a beautiful card in every way! LOVE LOVE LOVE - and no, it does NOT even HINT of being close to autumnal leanings here in Brooksville. LOL No crispness here. But I do feel a deep gratitude that we have not endured any threatening storms (yet) this year, and feel badly for the folks who were slammed by Ida. Let's hope that is the last severe storm that hits land this year! Wishing you lots of peace during the renos! hugs, de

What wonderful paper and you always use it so well, Leslie! The mermaid is enchanting and the sentiment takes this to another level of fun! We have a few hints of Fall here. They are short and infrequent, but will become more frequent soon, I hope. I love Fall!

What a happy card, between the bright mix of papers, cute stamps, and sparkles on the water and the tail. You mentioned shopping your stash...I've been pulled to really do that more and more lately. Getting rid of a few things on an online yard sale site, and I bought several old PSX rubber stamps. How did I ever miss those when they were actually sold in stores?? So now that I've made my new purchases, I need to 'shop my stash' and stop hunting for new-to-me things. Use what I have. I look at my collection and realize how blessed I am!
