Power Poppy Friday with Lots of Color

Well, here we are again at Friday and flowers, and since it's my Power Poppy day I have some extra pretty flowers with butterflies in a digital stamp called Time to Fly.  Can you tell I was in the mood for color?  I went all out and had the best time with this!

I colored with my Tombow markers, NO water, and only minimal use of the blender pen.  I used the blender pen on the clock face and the aura around the image.  It might be my new favorite way to color.  It's similar to using Copics or pencils, blending dark to light or vice versa, but for me it was easier and quicker.  I'll try it again soon and see if I still love it.  It's important to note that I used 140 lb watercolor paper, which is essential for the water-based markers.

Since I printed in a light gray, most of the lines disappeared under my water-based markers, including the watch face, so I went back over that with a fine tipped gray marker.

See more colorful Power Poppy flowers here:

Christine

Other than the coloring, this is a simple card:

  • Power Poppy Time to Fly digital stamp
  • 140 lb Fabriano Artistico Extra White watercolor paper
  • Tombow water-based markers

Stay well, stay safe, and enjoy your weekend!

As soon as I scrolled down and saw this I went WOW! A most stunning card. Do you know a long while back I won a set of Tombow markers and have never used them? Guess I need to get them out, your card is amazing!

Your colors are amazing, Leslie! This is an image I wouldn't even try to color, but I have so little coloring skill, anyway. The fact that you used markers without water is so surprising. The image is beautifully painted.

I have always been in awe of your coloring, but this is just jaw dropping. I love the depth and dimension of your piece. Hubby whould be rubbing his finger over this one being amazed that it is flat lol. Love how you balenced the colors too. Another framable piece.

Lovely colours as well, and love the no line. I haven't done much colouring lately, mostly die cutting, I miss colouring now that I see your beautiful creation! Monte is fine now, I watched him today while outside and he is cautious of what he drinks, had a bucked of soapy water there and he sniffed and walked away....lesson learnt! xx

What a beautiful, nature-laden, steam-punky masterpiece, Miss Leslie! Love the "alternating" blue and golden backgrounds to complement the blue and golden elements! GENIUS artistic idea - not sure why I had never thought of it - OH YES! It must be because my artiste friend LESLIE had to show me first! LOVE LOVE LOVE your creation bespeaking time in both human ways and nature's ways. love, de
