Dazzling Display

Hello, friends!  It's Friday and I'm just now getting here for the first time this week.  I've been out in the garden and doing other things... mostly enjoying spring when the sun shines.  Three morning crafty sessions were spent coloring the image on today's card and two more mornings were spent trying to get a satisfactory photograph.  I'm calling it finished now, so here it is:  Power Poppy Dazzling Display digital stamp, colored with Prismacolor pencils on Cryogen ivory cardstock.

I've heard how Cryogen cardstock is good for Copics and pencils.  I didn't care for it with Copics, and now that I've tried pencils with it I can't say I'm a fan of that, either.  My particular Cryogen cardstock is years old and maybe it's different now.  I don't know.  I will try again with another idea.  Colorers who are far more skilled than me have recommended Cryogen, so please don't consider my judgement final.

But... isn't this is a pretty digi stamp?  I want to show you the whole set:

You can see I enlarged the smaller image quite a lot just so I could focus on these cute flowers and the berries.  Marcella says these flowers are Primroses, but they can be anything you want them to be.  My crazy dotted background is done with Copics.  Just playing around.

Well, that's it for me this week.  Let's see what my Powerhouse Teamies have been up to:

I hope you're all well as we head into the weekend.  I'm retired, so it's all the same.  Today I'm enjoying a picnic day with Rich and the dogs.  Everything is closed up, but we know where to go.  A day out is just what I need.  Take care!

your colouring is sunning Leslie, I've never tried alcohol pens or pencils on cryogen card. I'll have to give it a go.
I'm out in the garden this weekend, although in Vancouver it may get a little hot :)

Stunning is all I can say! I love our coloring always. the colors you choose for your projects are always beautiful and perfect for the image. Here, I love your dotted background. I think that does make it dazzle. I hope you enjoy your picnic. We are still observing the lockdown although I did go out twice to two different places to pick up food that I ordered online. Have a Happy Mother's Day!

I'm so glad you had a day out for a ride, Leslie! I think that may be what I needed!
Your coloring on these flowers is so beautifully done! I love the deep red blue and green and your details are wonderful. Can I say amazing, dazzling even? The black mat adds just the right balance to the boldness of the colors.

What an absolute gorgeous card! Your coloring is always fantastic but this card goes to the top of the list. Your playing around is amazing! What a nice thing - a picnic!! We are still struggling to get some spring. Rain and snow is expected tonight and tomorrow. Have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Hope you had a good day out, I agree we need them every once in awhile!

Beautiful job on this card, love deep colors you brought to this and your background is fantastic with it, great with your sentiment! I have the same problem, I see someone doing something on a certain paper and it just doesn't work for me, but this looks fantastic!

Gorgeous, as usual, Leslie! I always love your coloring. I hope you enjoyed your outing. We went on a picnic/outing last Sunday with our son and his family. It was a great time and we were able to stay away from others.

WOW! How'd I miss this beauty? Must have been all my outside work getting in the way of computer/crafting ... let's see Friday post ... yep that's the day the mulch was delivered and we were out all day mulching. LOVE your design and the colors are glorious! And, I really like how you did that dotted background ... looks awesome! You staged this card just perfect with that adorable & beautiful china piece (bird I'm assuming). The colors are the same and just beautiful! Thanks for always inspiring me and lifting my spirits with your beautiful creations.
