So I picked out a few things and got some project bags together. This keeps me focused. No particular order or preference. In fact, some of my favorite things have been waiting the longest. It's as though I'm afraid to mess them up or something. I don't know, sigh... Anyway, this pretty little Stamplorations Framed Dahlia stamp was a gift received last summer.
I'm working on my birthday card stash so I stamped an old Hero Arts sentiment and stitched it label-style between the cardstock layers. Designer paper on a ribbed white base. Butterflies cut from designer paper. Using up bits of this and that. Coloring is Copics on watercolor paper.
My layered birthday card and I are playing along at Seize the Birthday today:
I'll be back shortly with another little something from one of my project bags. Six more projects in this batch. That shouldn't take long, right? A new year always starts with the best intentions. Supplies listed below. Have a happy day!
Stamps: Stamplorations Framed Dahlia, Hero Arts Day to Celebrate Paper: Fabriano Artistico Extra White 140 lb hot pressed watercolor, ribbed white, SU Whisper White, SU Cameo Coral, Bo Bunny Prairie Chic designer paper Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black Coloring: Copics Dies: Impression Obsession Butterfly Set

Such a lovely birthday card! I love the flowers and as always your coloring skills are amazing. I too need to get busy with some birthday cards for my stash.
Gorgeous rich colours for your dailies a lovely card Leslie
Oh so very pretty, yes I need birthday cards too and isn't it fun to create more then Christmas now, though I hope to keep going on those all year this year. I thought I had a similar stamp I won years ago so I looked in my 'floral' stamp drawer and pulled it out and it is nothing like yours ...hah...but the good thing is, it is out now so I am going to use it...for the first time...see how you inspire!!! Love the pretty colors of your card...happy Monday to 'you'!!
Your good intentions paid off delightfully! Love your plan to use up all those new things. Think I need to try it too! I love the soft layered papers and the embossed card base. Your beautiful dahlias steal the show!
I'd also like to know: what do you combine in your project bags?
Lovely card, Leslie. I do like the layers and your sentiment tag placement. I have an over crowded bin of new stuff...and a box of stuff sent to me as in diecuts and stamps. My goal is to dig in this year. wish me luck.
oh this is so pretty! You're making me want to go shopping Leslie! hehe Beautiful coloring and love this style of yours! Happy New Year!!!
Beautiful. And I know what you mean BIG GRIN. Have a great day
Well I am glad you pulled this out and finished it in a card. This is so gorgeous and I love the rich colors. Awesome work my friend.
Fabulous idea. When I go in my craft room, I'm overwhelmed with how much stuff I have, and I keep buying more. Making up project bags is a great plan. And I love your beautiful coloring here, plus the design is fantastic. Beautiful card!!!
It is a gorgeous dahlia, Leslie, and even gorgeous'er done by your hand. I must say that I'm amazed Copics do well on watercolor paper! I didn't know they would blend when being grabbed by that cottony consistency on WC paper. So thanks for that little tidbit! Your geometric horizontal lines are fantastic in contrast to the flowers, and of course, delicate little butterflies always make everything better! Wonderful card! (and yes, I do agree about the "wonderfulness" in our "to be colored" bins. LOL hugs, de
This is so beautiful. I love how you colored the Dahlias. They did very nicely on the watercolor paper. I'll have to try that technique. Very pretty design too. I have so many digital images, I know I'll never get to use all of them.
Oh this is so beautiful Leslie, your colouring skills are perfect, love the colours used and lovely layout.
Happy New Year.

What a nice birthday card! One can never have too many birthday cards. Your flowers are always so beautifuy colored. The whole family is sick! What a mess. Not too much is getting done here!
Oh My...after seeing your gorgeous colored dahlias and finished card...I Need that stamp!!! TFS your beauty, my friend. Hugs..Nancy
Oh my Leslie, this is beautiful! I truly understand the overwhelm one feels, I have the same issue, which most times turns into not making a card as I can't decide what to work on - way too much stuff in my craft room!! Maybe I need to do the project bags to help the process. Love the richness of the reds for your Dahlias, a lovely contrast against your background - it just pops! I also like the white ribbed card base, just gives it that little extra! I was so happy to see your card today, first day back to work after the holidays, needed some eye candy for sure! TFS,
Very pretty with the bold red Dahlia and those tiny butterflies are awesome. Very pretty Leslie. I did really well last year not buying a lot of stuff and used what I had. Mostly since I figured my time was limited stamping so I need to use what I have. This year I might end up doing the same thing. Although, I did get a few of the Sassy Cheryl's before she closed her doors. That was more out of necessity. hee hee I think I am one up on you this year already for Christmas cards? ;-)
What a great idea to creat project bags and have a space for unused stamp sets, I imagine it brings more focus than randomly remembering stamps as yet used, which is my usual way LOL! Beautiful card Leslie, I love the patterned papers you used and the sentiment attached to the side of the main image, which is sooo lovely.
Beautiful Leslie, I love those gorgeous red flowers and your layout is perfect with the touch of DP and the inserted sentiment :)
Wow this is gorgeous, I just love the coloring and the papers you used for the butterflies, they are so pretty. Like your stitching of the sentiment, very cool, you always have those great extras that put the card over the top, great layout too!
Those are some great "bits of this and that." :) Awesome card!
Love this, gorgeous card, so fresh...xx
Love the beautiful stamp and your colouring is amazing as usual-the D.paper is perfect
