Benton Loves His Bubbles

Good grief, I haven't colored Benton since 2013!  I looked it up.  He was new to me then and it was the first and last time I colored him.  That's just wrong!  However, in the midst of chipping away at my collection of new-to-me acquisitions, I came across a bubble bath challenge.  Did you know January 8th is National Bubble Bath Day?

I did break out one not-yet-used item for this card, and that's the bubble stencil.  Actually, it's a bokeh stencil, but it's perfect for bubbles, too.  Benton and his bubbles were stamped in Memento London Fog ink and colored with Copics.  I cut out the words of the sentiment and used a flower punch on the ampersand.  The sketch is current at Freshly Made Sketches.  I followed it to the letter because, really, there was no reason to deviate.  It was ideal for Benton.

The Bubble Bath Day challenge is at Day of the Month Card Club.  They're somewhat new, this being their 11th challenge.  Each runs from the 7th till the end of the month, which gives us slow stampers plenty of time to play:

Also:

Freshly Made Sketch #417 and Double D Challenges "Use a Punch" (a punch was used on the ampersand in the sentiment):

Supplies for this card are listed below my signature.  That's all, folks!  Enjoy your day!

Stamps:  Inky Antics Pampered Benton  Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White, soft blue Bazzill  Ink:  Memento London Fog, Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Soft Sky for bubbles  Coloring:  Copic markers  Accessories:  Newton's Nook Bokeh Stencil Set, sequins, flower punch  Dies:  Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Stackables, Spellbinders Nested Lacy Pennants

Love Benson! Fabulous card Leslie, and love your 'bubble' background, the bokeh stencil works perfectly for this. I think everyone needs a day like this - relax and unwind! I still remember your card from 2013, funny how you can still vision certain things. I can vision the orange coloured tub he was sitting in! LOL. Anyway lovely seeing your card today, have a great day Leslie!

Such a cute stamp and you have featured him so well and I bet he just loves making an appearance again! Great idea for the bubbles...and guess what I am working on a 'bath' card right now too...such a fun idea for a challenge, very unique...and you can enter this at DD too since you used a punch!!
PS: I don't make resolutions, but I told myself that I was going to do more then just DT cards which seems is all I ever do, BUT I was going to have some fun this year and do a few challenges, so this is my 2nd attempt at that...FUN!!

OMG this is SO cute and what a great idea to use the 'bubble' stencil for the background! Isn't it amazing how fast time goes by!! I too have SO MANY things that haven't seen any love in such a long time ... will have to try and do something about that in 2020.
This looks like a fun challenge ... maybe ... just maybe I'll find the time to join in! Thanks for fun inspiration! YOU ROCK!

Little Benton is just adorable with his bubbles! I know what you mean about forgetting something. I found some stamos sets the other day buried away and pout them on my desk to use so I won't forget about them. Nice challenge.

Poor Benton, neglected all those years and then having to suffer through a bubble bath! He just cannot win. What a cute image! Love the girly pink bubbles, further robbing him of any dignity he may have left. Giggling. Fabulous bubble theme in your background and layers. Thanks for educating us about National Bubble Bath day, and sharing your darling card! xx
