Flowerful Friday: Twofer Challenge -- Pets

Hello!  I have quite a few photos today, so I'll use my words sparingly.  Today is Flowerful Friday, but I was running out of time to play along in Darnell's Twofer Pets-Theme Challenge.  I couldn't pass this one up, so I combined the two -- flowers and pets.

I used dog stamps and flower dies, and many of you know I have two Golden Retrievers, so we'll imagine these dogs are Wally and LuLu.  The first is a "hello" card.  The stamps are Inkadinkado Dogs, and the die is Sue Wilson Daisy Cluster.

The die cut is colored and layered and popped up, and 1/4" punched, glittered circles added to the flower centers.

The second card is a Valentine for my Rich.  I'm about 10 months ahead!

Both cards are easy, clean, cute, and I wish I loved everything I make as much as I love these cards.  The Valentine is a 5" square, lots of white to avoid looking too busy.   A very pretty Joy! craft Square Frame die and Die-namites Rose Bouquet.

A closer peek at the Rose Bouquet which was cut from designer paper.  I colored the rose buds and leaves/stems with Copic markers, and left the bow as is.  It might be my new favorite thing to do with die cuts.

We're asked to photograph both cards together for the link, so here's my twofer together:

And the inside of each card:

Also, Darnell suggested it might be fun to show a pic of our own pets, so here's my real-life twofer, Wally and LuLu:

Guess which one's the girl.  Our son taped that flower to her head and she seemed very proud of it, even though I'm sure she didn't even realize it was there.

I'll wrap this up with the link and graphic.  I'm sure glad I made time to play along.  Thanks Darnell and Twofer Team!

These are so darn sweet, Leslie! I love those pups, especially the polka dots and swirls they're sporting! The daisy flourish is a wonderful addition to this happy hello card, and I love the early valentine you've created for your sweetheart. That bouquet is sweetly colored, and I love the addition of the heart. Two great cards!! Thank you so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev

Leslie, I love when you do these Twofer challenges and love more that you combined your friday flower card along with this challenge. Both cards are fabulous, the dogs are so cute, love the designs on them and long with the great sentiments. The way you placed the floral die cut on the first card is just so perfect! The second card is amazing. They way you coloured the designer paper - wow what a great look this is! The metal heart is so special I know Rich will love this! And then Lulu and Wally, both so adorable, I just want to reach out and give them a hug! Thanks for sharing your fur babies in this post. You just made my day! Enjoy the weekend. Up around 50F this weekend, so Bill and I will be out birding, a few migrants have showed up here in SW Ont, just not in numbers yet, so hopefully we see something!

I have lots of 'inka' (that's what I call them) stamp sets but not that one!! I especially love the picture of Lulu and Wally....and the flower on Lulu!! I still haven't even started my twofer cards, I hope I make it!!

I'm so glad you played along, too, Leslie! How could you not make a duo of dogs for your featured pets?! And thank you for sharing the beautiful real pets with us! I thought at first a butterfly had landed on Lulu's head, so I'm just going to pretend that's what it is!

Back to your cards, well done, my friend! These two are adorable in both designs! Any dog lover is going to love that dog-speak Hello card! Again, is it just me or do they look like they are sitting at a cafe table, maybe pool-side, waiting for their dogtails, hmmm?! Those daisies are amazing!

And your anniversary card for Rich will be cherished! What a great idea it was to die cut that bouquet out of pp and then color part of it! Talk about inspiration, right back atchoo! The lattice-work frame is perfect, as is that stunning metal heart!!

Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #4! Hugs, Darnell

Well, I just LOVE these cards and seeing your take on the Twofer challenge. The Hello card and Valentine are certainly different, and It's interesting how you chose the style for each. Bright, happy, colorful and fun! My favorite thing to do with patterned paper may be to give coloring it with markers a try! You are so clever. Hugs, Leslie!
