Hi there! A while back I pulled out another of my self-made card kits and started coloring, but then I got distracted by challenges and these cards, though finished and photographed, were not yet posted. Today is their day.
This kit features Colorado Craft Company stamps by Kris Lauren. Very cute! The set I used today is called This is the Life, gifted to me maybe a year ago. I always question my sanity when I realize how long I've left something waiting in the basket.
The snail, mushroom, grass, ladybug, and sentiment are all separate stamps. I stamped the snail, masked it, and then stamped the mushroom and all the rest. There is quite a lot of fanciful detail in the snail shell. Coloring is with Copics.
Next up is the little mouse. Again with the masking and adding in other stamps from the set. The sketch is FMS #707 which I loved a lot for using designer paper. I made a point of adding some Cottage Cutz flowers to each card as they were also not yet used, though much newer to me than the stamp set.
NBUS Challenge #84 -- My never before used schtuff is the CCC This is the Life stamp set and Cottage Cutz Flowers.
Gosh, this was fun! You might think I'm making good progress on my NBUS and maybe I am, but there's still so much! Not the least of it is gifts from my local soul sister who showers me at birthdays and Christmas, and sometimes in between. We keep on keeping on. It's a sisterhood.
Thanks for stopping by. You know I love it when you do!

Wow, the snail is a piece of art, such a beautiful design with all the colors, , just shows how excellent you are at coloring, both are fabulously designed, I can relate to the little mouse, some days I feel just like that! Kudo's to you too for using your new 'stuff'!!
Both are so cute and striking. Love the bold colors. Have a great day

These are both so cute. Love the images and what a job coloring that snail. I also love the dsp that you used. So bright and vibrant.
Such sweet, fun whimsical cards, Leslie! You bring critters to life with fanciful coloring, I love how you chose the colors and the amazing detail. Your'e so talented at adding just the right die cuts and layouts to your cards. These are fabulous! Pretty papers to love too!
Your mouse is adorable Leslie, but that snail takes the cake! The coloring you did on him is FABULOUS and reminds me of Zentangle. All the dsp and other stamps combined make both of these cards absolutely wonderful, whimsical and totally delightful my friend!! Hugs. :0)
Those must have been two very fun cards to make. :-) Awesome colors for your little snail. And a great combination of stamps!
Wow Leslie, you've done an amazing job on these two cards. I have this set and you've given me some great ideas on other things I can do with it.
Leslie, I just adore that fancy little snail peek-a-booing at his friend from atop your mushroom! Speaking of the mushroom - it sure serves as a great place for these darling creatures to rest!
Two fabulous and fun cards!

Oh my gosh these images with the fabulous papers make for such lovely cards. Great scene creations.
LOL!!!! I love your zen snail and his colorful shell, peeking down to his little friend, taking the time to visit. FABULOUS card design, Leslie. It reminds me of me, because I view the details and enjoy traveling rabbit trails found throughout life's journeys. I also am enamored with the blue tones washed around the masked images and also in the daisy petals. Super sweet in every way, told in your amazing story-telling manner, Leslie. The napping mouse on the same "bed" is also really cute atop the same mushroom, unaware of his approaching visitors. The paper piecing is great in the background! hugs, de
Two fantastic cards Leslie. As always, your colouring is AMAZING. And I love your layout and design. That mushroom has made a very special resting place for small critters and such. The bright colours and embellishments on each card, are a delight. So much eye candy, I could stare at these cards for hours and still see something new. Amazing work, Leslie! xx
Love the bright and happy coloring on the snail! But it's the little mouse that has me smitten. This is exactly how I've felt everyday after cleaning out my parent's house preparing for their move LOL!
What a fabulous snail and shell, Leslie! Amazing coloring on these tight little spaces. The little mouse is adorable all relaxed on the mushroom! Wonderful backgrounds and I love the flowers! My NBUS seems to grow faster than it shrinks. I may need intervention!
Oh my these are just delightful, I so love the way you did the masking to add the critters to the mushrooms, and your coloring is just fantastic on them both! Such pretty die cut flowers to add to the scenes to finish them off so nicely. Pretty papers to go with them too, great designs on both!
OH My Stars!! Your masking then creating the scene around the focus image is AMAZING and absolutely awesome!!! I don't like snails (yucky little critters to me lol) but this one sure is a show off with his psychedelic shell lol. Then when I scrolled down and saw that poor 'worn out' mouse I nearly fell off my chair! LOL Fabulous designs and coloring! Well done Leslie (so inspiring) Miller!!!
Both are wonderful cards Leslie. I know how much you love to colour, and you did an amazing job on the snail. And the dp is wonderful, looks 3D ish. Glad you finally got around to sharing these!
