Penny Black Permission to Play #1

Hello and welcome!  I started making today's cards in June, and now it's the middle of August.  I feel so far behind, but here in my happy place there's no room for worries.  More card making, please.

For these cards I finished up the last three images from the Penny Black Christmas Fun set using Jill Foster's Permission to Play Sketch #1.  I pulled embossed panels from my spare parts stash and chose sentiments from here and there that worked with each image.  The embellishments are just enough to add some fun -- Tim Holtz Holiday Greens Mini, and one card with some oldie dog icons from my stash.  Coloring was done with Tombow markers.

Diamond Glaze on the baubles and berries.
Picket Fence Studio Santa Mischief sentiment.
Tim Holtz Pine Branches 3D embossing folder smooshed with white ink.

Stampendous Squeaky Stuff sentiment
Spellbinders Sweater Weather embossing folder brushed with Memento Toffee Crunch ink.

Inky Antics Holiday Bazooples #2 sentiment.
Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder smooshed with white ink.

Thank you, friends!  The crafting habit is not one I wish to break, so I'll surely make time to use my supplies.  I hope you don't mind if I pop in with spring flowers in the dead of winter.  That's how far behind I am.  But, hey, I'm doing Christmas cards in August so I suppose there's no difference.

By the way, the doe and her two fawns crossed through the garden yesterday, so they're safe for now.

Take care till we meet again.

Oh Leslie, these are all just as cute as can be! The sentiments gave me a good chuckle. This little pup and his shenanigans are the cutest! Thanks for the sweet card as well. You needn't have taken the time knowing all that's been on your plate, but I'm sure glad you did. So very thoughtful of you. Hugs to you!

Oh, the cuteness that comes from your crafty space, Leslie! I can always count on you to have the 'bestest' sentiments for your pups - though I do believe that 'naughty' one fits the bill for all of us! lol
I love every one of your embossed panels and each of your beautifully painted images! Who says Christmas in August isn't a thing? Spring flowers in Winter are just what we need to see!

I'm late stopping by, but you know what they say! It's great to see you posting and I see I missed your last one with all the wonderful photos and updates on Rich and Sophie. That pretty girl certainly keeps you hopping with her adventures! I feel so bad about the bee stings! And it's good to see Rich able to be outside.

I love all your fun PB designs, my friend! Awesome colors and coloring and fun embossing and texture! I am adding them to my I.D.E.A.S. Board since it's E=Embossing! 📌❤

Take care and I hope you get crafty time again soon. I'll be away on holiday for a while, but I will catch up later next month. Hugs, Darnell

Hi Leslie, I'm a bit behind on my commenting, between going to Wales for 3 weeks and then having visitors at home for another 3 weeks I don't know where the time has gone ♥. I'm not sure if I have already mentioned this but thank you for the beautiful Birthday card, that was so sweet.
I hope hubby is doing OK and Little Sophie is being a good girl ♥
your puppy Christmas cards are so totally adorable. As a dog owner I love seeing doggy Christmas cards xx

LOL! How do you DO it? Leslie, these had me laughing AND looking at all the artsy details with textures. Super sweet in every way, oh-so-pretty, and full of laughter - just like the season should be! I love the different techniques. But more... I could just picture you as the Christmas Santa for Fur Babies, doling out the gifts and bringing on the fun! Sending hugs...
