Cups of Love

Hello and welcome to another week on the blog.  I'm not sure if I'll have anything other than Valentines this week seeing as how every available crafting moment has been spent on them.  I would love more crafting moments, but there's always a lot of starting and stopping, getting called away, running off to do other things, sigh.  The two cards today were finished over a matter of days.

The first is a Valentine for my one and only sweetie.  Part manly, part feminine, his cup and mine, together forever.  I used a new-to-me Cottage Cutz die set called Cup of Love.  It's paired with Tutti Stitched Nesting Hearts.  Cute paper and ribbon.  I know -- ribbon!

I cut on watercolor paper and colored with Tombow markers.  I love that teensy bird.

There are a lot of parts to this die set and by the time these two cards were done I'd used all of them.  There are so many ways you can mix it up.  The next card is for a friend.  I've also used a heart punch, Spellbinders Scored and Pierced Rectangles, and Poppystamps Heart Sprinkle Sash -- mostly older dies that still get a lot of love from me.

When I was working with this die set -- coloring parts, picking up with my sticky tool, moving things around with my pokey tool, fitting and gluing everything together -- I was reminded of guys with their model cars, ships, airplanes or whatever.  It's the same deal, but with paper.  I liked that idea.

Since my Cottage Cutz Cup of Love die set is brand new-to-me and used for the first time I'll pop one of these cards over to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #47 where it's all about using the "never before used schtuff".  Thanks, Darnell!

I hope you're having a good day wherever you are and whatever you're doing.  Love you much!

I love that teensy birdie, too, Leslie! Of course your pinking makes him (and her) cute as can be! Both "heart" cards are darling! The one fo your Honey is the sweetest with a great combination of his-and-her "ness". However you managed to shade the tee-tiny hearts and place them so impeccably on your Valentine is beyond me! Sweet as can be, and beautifully done.

Both cards are fabulous. That looks like such a versatile die set. I'm sure recipients will be so happy to get them. Yes, I understand about not having more time for crafting. If only I could twitch my nose and have a clean house.

Leslie, you're spot on with that comparison and can attest to hours spent watching my older brothers put those model cars together - as long as I was quiet and didn't touch, that is! lol
LOve is most definitely in the air in your craft studio, my friend, and showing up in all the wonderful details in your darling cards! [especially loving the card for your tweet-heart! and the tiny little tea bag!]

Fabulous Valentines, the one for your hubby is too cute, like how you colored the cups and the different steams coming from them, his full of hearts and yours with a little bit of swirl added :) That bird is too cute with the little heart wing, so sweet!
The second is so lovely, I like the pattern you used for the cup and hearts, the fun heart border is perfect with it, that tea bag is very cute too!
I have not thought about it but that is what putting these dies together is like, that's why hubby enjoys doing that stuff too :)
Very sweet!

You have the patience, the talent and the skill to create these wonderful cards with so many pieces and layers! I realize that is NOT in my wheelhouse at all. The coloring is fabulous, as usual, and the choice of details for your design is just wonderful.

Both cards are beautiful, Leslie and I'm intrigued by the versatile die set. So many fun details! I love the bitty bird, the RIBBON (fist pump) and especially your masterful shading on the cups. I'll be sure to be mindful of your 'tinkering' analogy when I get upstairs to my happy place. You make me smile!
