Lavinia Bunnies in the Springtime

Hi there!  I've been playing with my Lavinia stamps again.  The deep forests and nighttime scenes are what most passionately attracted me to Lavinia, but I had it in my head that I wanted to make some brown bunnies in a spring scene this time.

In this case I stamped the bunnies first and then built the scene around them.  All inks are Stampin' Up.  The bunnies were inked in Creamy Caramel and stamped about three times using a stamp positioner.  Finally I inked their ears, feet, and tails with a Chocolate Chip marker and stamped one last time.  I made masks for the smooth rolling hills.

I'm so addicted.  Lavinia stamps have cast a spell on me.

The paper I stamped on is a metallic white shimmer cardstock purchased through Amazon.  It has a beautiful sheen for blended backgrounds so I thought it would be nice for Lavinia cards.  It is a lovely sight in person, but not easy to capture the shimmer in a photo without it looking grainy and glaring.  I can recommend it for blending, stenciling and stamping.  You can find it here.

I'm happy to share in the following challenges today:

Sunday Stamps Challenge 303:  Spring Dreaming.  Must use three colors from the graphic below.
NBUS Challenge #47.  Never before used schtuff -- All the foliage stamps are being used for the first time.

I appreciate the folks who put so much time and effort into these challenges for the rest of us.

One last thing -- It snowed 3" here last Thursday.  Our 13 and 11 yr old Wally and LuLu played in it like puppies:

A single crocus in the melting snow is a reminder that spring will prevail:

Wishing everyone a beautiful day!

The Lavinia stamps I used are:   LAV482 Whimsical Hares, LAV173 Willow, LAV741 Leaf Spray, LAV729 Woodland Fern, LAV305 Mini Leaf 1

The sentiment stamp is an oldie wood block from my stash.

First of all, how about all that snow? I have friends and family in the Portland and Willamette Valley (I moved to Idaho from there 3+ years ago) that are dealing with all that comes with the unusual snowfall (good and less so), however seeing Wally and Lulu makes my heart happy!

I so understand your love of Lavinia stamps (I have a few that need some stamping love) and what you've created with the challenge colors is so dreamy and sweet! The blended hills and stamped branches make a beautiful scene for those darling bunnies. Thank you so much for joining us for our color challenge at Sunday Stamps!

What a beautiful card my friend. I just love those sweet bunnies and the greenery all around them. Your composition is just perfect! It is so very nice to see photos of Wally and Luly. My Bella turned 10 in January and was really slowing down until we changed her diet. Now she is playful and such a happy girl!

wooo hoooo for Wally and Lulu! How fun! It looks a lot more than 3 inches! How fun, Leslie. I can just imagine your big smile and lots of laughter while watching them. with this latest cold front that was squeezed the country... wanna know what we are getting here? A drop in humidity for about 24 hours LOL (no complaining on our parts).

Your Lavinia bunny card is adorable! I'm not seen anyone use the images as colorfully as you have, and they look extra sweet. They nearly match the colors of Lulu and Wally. Your sentiment stamp looks like one that was made years ago for House Mouse stamps! I wonder if it is...
Beautiful card, my friend!
hugs,

What a beautifully created Spring card, I love those bunnies, I might even have them but not sure LOL, guess I need to re-organize my stamps somewhat! Love the colors and the pretty inking and the entire design. Fun to see Wally and Lulu having fun in the snow, we had a bit overnight a few days ago but for the most part we have been snowless in my part of Michigan, but up at the lake house that is a whole other story, we were there a few weeks ago and there was at least 10". And look at that beautiful crocus in the snow, mine haven't come up yet, but the tulips, daffodils and hyacinths have spouted up pretty good and sad to say a lilac bush has buds, WAY too early, have some daylilies that have come up and froze out again, ugh, crazy crazy weather!!

Love your sweet spring card, those look like some happy bunnies :) Like how you did the hills in the background, so sweet! yes we keep getting nice days here in there among the cold days so it is getting me quite excited for spring.
Wally and Lulu look so cute playing in the snow, I bet it was a fun surprise for them, love the pic of the crocus in the snow, that would make a nice image for a spring card too!

Awwwwwwwww...you know you've got me hooked on the Lavinia stamps and now I'm even more so after seeing this sweet, sweet card! I love how you've inked up the bunnies and I will definitely remember that the next time I get my bunnies out! You've set the scene so beautifully too with the rolling green hills and foliage...I wish Spring were here already!! Sorry to hear about all the snow, but it looks like the dogs had a blast!! Our 1st dog Brinkley (whom I still miss terribly!) LOVED to play in the snow! And eat it!! And thank you for the snapshot of the crocus...it seems so far away here in Michigan, but Spring will come! Hugs. :0)

Your Spring card is so beautiful. I think you have found your niche with these Lavinia stamps. The scene is so realistic. I really love this card Leslie. Thanks for sharing a picture of Wally & Lulu, it's been a while. They sure look like they are having fun in the snow! Your crocus is so beautiful. I noticed my Hellebore's are blooming new shoots out of the ground, but we are still in the middle of winter here, I hope they survive. Thanks for sharing today, have a wonderful day!

I have added the paper to my wish list and will get some soon. Thanks for the tip. Wally and LuLu look like they are having so much fun in the snow. :) I bet you enjoyed watching them frolic like puppies. We had six inches here and then about another inch today. I'm hoping that's the end of it. One more thing ... you are a very talented photographer. Your crocus in winter is a beauty! xx

Love your sweet scene. I know what you mean about Lavinia stamps, I just bought a bunch when I was back there along with the journal and black Yupo (bad me)
Lullu and Wally are having lots of fun, Dylan and Tika were both out in it with friends while we were away, Dylan sliding down a slop on his back and Tika with here snowball feet :)
