Hello again! Continuing with Creative Expressions week... it's an edger die today -- one of several I bought a few months ago. This one is called Tropical Toucan. I've had the most fun with all my edger dies. They can be simple or you can do more. With this one I spent a little extra time coloring and piecing. No fancy coloring techniques, but it really doesn't matter.
After I cut the die I poked out all the little pieces and let them fall in a jumble on a sheet of paper. It's just like working a jigsaw puzzle, but you color the pieces yourself. And, yes, there are some very tiny pieces! I covered the card base with designer paper, glued the die onto that, then went to work with my jigsaw. The sentiment is Big and Little Reverse Words from Memory Box, cut with it's own die.
Just fun.
I'll share again in Darnell's NBUS Challenge #40 because my Toucan is fresh out of the never-before-used-schtuff basket.
Thank you! Wishing you a happy, safe, and healthy day!

What a colorful card! I am fascinated by the edger dies you use...I just don't think I've ever noticed one when I'm shopping. Again, your coloring and design are terrific, Leslie.
pretty card. That's a nice edger die. I'm glad I'm not tempted anymore into buying all those things... Have a great day
Awesome card Leslie! Love this edger, and how you created your card using this. Great background paper, so fitting (that's why you used it - lol), love the bright colours, makes the Toucan pop! I have a couple of edgers, just haven't had the chance yet to use them. Thanks for sharing today. Have a wonderful day!
I love how you handle these edger dies, Leslie. You're the reason I bought a few. This card is no exception, fabulous.
Cool card, Leslie, and you put the "puzzle" together well! Love the toucan and the pretty patterned paper.
This is a fantastic edge die, Leslie, and my hat goes off to you for putting all those itty bitty pieces back in! What a fun card! So glad to see it in the NBUS gallery!
Leslie this beauty makes me want a tropical drink!! SO fun!

your toucan is gorgeous and all those tropical colours and plants are wonderful ♥
Such a fun and colorful die cut edger Toucan puzzle, Leslie. I love your choice of DP for the background. TFS my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
Fabulous! What a clever idea to color up the pieces that were punched out of the die. Love the designer paper that goes so well with it.
Just fun says it all! I've never looked in to edger dies - you've opened the door for me, ha ha! Life is full of delightful moments (as you reminded me) and little adventures. This toucan looks ready for them all! I love the whimsical paper you chose and the red highlights.
That for sure is more work but fun to do and gives even a more interest to it, love how you did the coloring and that paper compliments it all just perfectly! Lovely creation!
What a great week you have had. This one has turned out brilliantly, I love those bold colours and the wonderful contrast with the white. Thanks for showcasing those edge dies, I have looked at them but not bought, as I wasn't sure how I would use them. This one is brilliant inspiration. I love to inlay diecuts and know exactly how it feels to be working with those tiny pieces. The times I have had to cut it out again because I have lost just one piece - so frustrating, but somehow I always find myself doing it again! Of the 4 fabulous cards I have just reviewed, this is my favourite xx
I find that making a card with just dies is very satisfying as coloring up an image. Often it is easier and takes less time. These bold colors are perfect for the die-cut toucan and I love that you did the inlays to make it complete!
WHOA, fabulous card. I love all the bright colors and your design is superb. Wonderful creation here, I can't stop looking at it!
You certainly have been busy with all those die pieces! I don't know if I would have the patience to do that! Your card turned out great. The edge dies look like so much fun! I have to admit that very time I see a Toucan I think of the cereal Fruit Loops! One of the kids loved that cereal! Have a great weekend!
WOW! I admire your patience and it was well worth it! Your card has an almost stained glass effect!
This is so bright and fun Leslie! Great colouring of all those little pieces! And perfect patterned paper for the background. Hope you are having a happy, safe and healthy day too, my friend! xx
This one is stunning. So bright and colorful. Those edger dies are amazing and so is your card.
