Sweet Nectar

Happy Friday!  Today's card wraps up Creative Expressions Week #1.  I'll do more on this focus another week, but I have a few other things to do in the meantime.  My not-yet-used baskets runneth over.

I think this stamp is so pretty and delicate.  The hummingbirds are make-believe colors because sometimes it's easier to not follow the rules.  I watercolored with Tombow markers.  I could swear the green border was a better match in real life, sigh...  Maybe it's the photo, maybe my memory is faulty (haha, not haha).

The stamp is called Sweet Nectar.  It includes the sentiment.  I added green sprinkles with retired SU Itty Bitty Backgrounds.  It's a simple birthday card, already sent and received.

Sharing my never-before-used Sweet Nectar at Darnell's NBUS Challenge #40.

That's all folks!  Have a sweet weekend!

Stamps:  Creative Expressions Sweet Nectar, SU Itty Bitty Backgrounds  Paper:  Fabriano Artistico Extra White 140 lb hot pressed watercolor, Memory Box Wheat Grass  Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, SU Glorious Green  Coloring:  Watercolor with Tombow markers  Other:  WOW Clear Gloss Super Fine embossing powder, gold trim

I am so glad your new stuff basket is overflowing. That makes me feel so much better! What a lovely card, the coloring is gorgeous and I love the sweet hummers. I like the border too, I think the bold color pulls things together. I've loved your cards this week, Leslie, and had a good look at Creative Expressions. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration!

Hi Leslie, just popped over to thank you for the lovely comment you left on my blog. I never can resist a doggy stamp, especially when they look a bit like Marvin, our Red Fox Lab!
Your card is beautiful, a lovely delicate stamp, soft colouring and beautiful clean design.

Beautiful Leslie! Your back ground is so soft and pretty, dreamy actually, and your hummingbirds and coloured beautifully. Your watercolouring is amazing. Love the itty bitty background stamp, just adds enough interest, and that strip of the gold peel off is perfect. Love this! Have a wonderful weekend, it's a long weekend here in Canada (Monday is Civic holiday) and I took Tuesday off, so a nice long weekend for me. Take care my friend, sending hugs

So, so pretty, Leslie. I always love your coloring, and you always know just the right finishing touches. I wonder how many of us still have the Itty Bitty Backgrounds set. :-)

It's beautiful Leslie. The green is perfectly fine and there are no rules when it comes to colouring so you can use whatever colour takes your fancy. I love the soft background and those splatters they are the perfect finishing touches xx

what a pretty card! Love the colors. I am enjoying watching our hummingbirds. We have one very large one that loves to come and peck at our window and then eventually flies away to get some goodies in the garden!

It is just gorgeous, I love the coloring, that is what I love about this creativity is we can do whatever, it doesn't have to be a copy of the real thing, it is what our eyes like to see :) I know what you mean about things matching ok in real life but the camera not picking that up, in fact half the pictures I take of side views are usually the actual colors then the head on pictures.

This is such a pretty and delicate card…love the vibrant hues…and I do believe when you see the sun reflect off a hummingbirds wings, all those colors appear. We were just at our daughters house in the mountains and enjoyed the hummingbirds feeding at the feeder. Thank you so much for welcoming me back to blogging. I always love seeing your card creations, Leslie.
