Fall Flower

Hello, and welcome back for Flowerful Friday.  I went with fall colors for today's card.  Have to make the switch from summer at some point.  I've used a Power Poppy digital stamp called I Luv Mums -- just one big flower and a sentiment from the digi set.

I always love mums in this russet color because it's so unusual and it speaks "fall" very clearly.  I colored with Copics and sponged the edges of the panel.  Making an effort to use some ribbon.  Hmm... not thrilled with the criss cross, so I added some hearts.  Don't know if it helped, but, hey, there it is.  I'm happy to use a little bit of designer paper as it continues to be a staple in my stamp room.

Inside I've used a retiring Power Poppy sentiment set -- Good Thinking:  Renewal.  I linked, but it's sold out.  One of my favorite sentiment sets and I use it all the time.  These front and inside sentiments are perfect together, I think, and very useful.

Will wonders never cease?  I actually photographed the Copics.  There were very few of them so it was easy.  Even still, it seems like a lot of Copics for a single flower and leaves.

Have a look here, too:

I appreciate the time you spent with me today.  I know how busy Life can be, even when we're mostly staying home.  I hope you're all okay in these times that are still not normal.  I won't say that everything here is 100% perfect, but Rich and I are well and our home is intact.  Take good care of yourselves!

Beautiful Mum, colored to perfection and definitely pretty fall colors. I used to have a few that color, but mine are more of a burgundy color and I didn't purchase any this year. Things are good here, like you said, we have our home, health at this point, our pets and lucky to be able to shop online, what more could we ask for right?

Oh Leslie, this is absolutely beautiful! Love the colours of your card, and that Mum is coloured to perfection! Your shading around the edges definitely pulls this all together. Love the added hearts too! All is well with us here, have today off, just went to pick up my bird seed to keep them happy, picked up groceries, so now I'm home to stay. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful fall card, I always love when you create!

Beautiful mum, Leslie. Even more beautiful coloring! You've really captured the color of those mums I pass along my walks. You know the ones - they sit on folks' front steps and give such a happy Fall look to a house! Anyway... This is really pretty and the touch of patterned paper works so well with your blossom. Great card! Stay safe. Bev

One thing I like about fall is the mums! I drive Joe crazy getting them and planting /replacing the ones that didn't come back. I love your card especially the coloring of your mum! The ribbon looks great. I used to use a lot of ribbon but not so much anymore. I have a bunch of them too! Great card and sentiment! Hope you and Rich have a nice fall weekend!

Be still my heart, Leslie, this card is breathtaking!!!!!
Your amazing coloring brings this already beautiful image to life.
Plus, the fabulous ribbon, which I've not seen before, and the little pattern paper hearts, just complete this masterpiece.
I love, love that you finish the inside too, the sentiment is full of hope, such beautiful words from one of my most favorite books.
Thank you for sharing, my friend.

That morning quote is such a good one. I had not seen this stamp set, and of course, now it's retiring. Oh well. Marcy has made SO MANY amazing sets over time, I'm blown away for the assortment.

I like how you colored the sunflower, and added those cute little hearts at the bottom (hey, I have that punch!). Always a pleasure to see your mad coloring skills, Leslie!

Leslie, I don't know how you capture those intricate highlights on each petal! What a gorgeously dimensional flower! I don't know if the hearts help or not, but they ARE sweet. That criss cross element is beautifully shaded as well, and I like it. Have you ever made anything I have not pinned? SO LOVE-ER-LY, Miss artiste! hugs, de

I'm glad you are well and safe at least for now. I pray things will improve in your area and the fires will be put out! Your fiery mum is gorgeous! Oh, my, I'd like a garden full of them! The patterned paper is a perfect accent and I love how the hearts add that little extra somethin'! I always use way more Copics than it seems I should need. But I have them so I might as well use them.

Oh my, Leslie! This is amazing and exquisite! I agree with everyone above! And I'm with Maria with her "be still my heart!" I've loved your work for more years than I can count, but this is one of my all-time favorites. The colors are so beautiful, and each petal is amazing and so perfectly colored...sigh! Makes me look at it and exam it in hopes to try it myself. Glad you shared the markers you used. One of these days, my friend! Thank you so much for sharing your gift of art! Hugs and love and continue to be safe! xoxo
