Brand New -- Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge

Hi, there!  Here's something I've never seen before -- a Halloween challenge.  Call me crazy, but I thought it sounded like the most fun, so I applied to the design team and now here I am to help kick things off for the October Jumpstart.

It's the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge (tee hee, love the name), conceived by Darlene and Diane who also own the Double D challenge blog.  After this month the challenges will start on the 2nd of each month and run till the 28th...  just go to the challenge blog to read what the Two Old Bats have to say about it.

We have an inspiration board for fun and creative spark , but the challenges are always anything goes.

This is what I did:

Halloween isn't for everyone, but for me it's all about the memories.  I don't have grandkids, so now the card making is my way of carrying on the fun.  When our son was young there were a lot of good times with school parties and carnivals, costume parades, trick-or-treating.  We made quite a spectacle of it at work, too, and afternoons the place just about shut down as what seemed like every kid in town came for candy.  They were so cute!

My card today uses all oldie-but-goodie stamps and papers... still just as cute as ever, I think.  Coloring was done with Copic markers.  Apparently something went wrong with the witch's hocus pocus -- oops!  Does it look to you like the cat and the spider are laughing at her?  Just wait till she gets out from under that hat!

You know... I retired from the challenge teams I was on, seeing as how we expected to be road tripping most of the summer, but COVID happened and now we're home.  You know the sentiment, "Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we might as well dance".  Well, let's dance!

Enjoy your day!

Yes, I believe Halloween should be fun too. I miss all the great times I had when I was a kid going around town trick or treating. It was fun when my kids were young and getting them all dressed up to also go trick or treating. It is sad to me how it has changed over the years. This card sure got a chuckle out of me. Adorable image; great coloring as usual

I agree with all the fun we had in the good ole days on Halloween. My favorite was the Halloween Carnival at our country grade school. Everyone..young and old dressed up and there was lots of candy, apple dunking and a cake walk, so all the kiddies got plenty of sweets without having to trick or treat up the river in the dark, which was especially spooky on Halloween night! We sure did celebrate at the clinic too. I loved seeing all the really cute little ones all dressed up and safe. The pumpkin contest by all the offices and departments was so much fun too. Employees and patients had great fun voting for days and trying to guess the winner! Fun times:-)

Your card is so colorful, fun, silly and you! Congratulations on being chosen as a Guest designer for the new challenge, my friend.

Love and Hugs...and....Happy Halloween...Nancy

Leslie, I'm so happy you are sharing your amazing talent as another DT member! This card is so fun, and I love that purple has been added to Halloween decor afer all the years of orange and black. (My high school colors were orange and black and my college colors the same! I never liked them. ;-) Now, of course, there are additions to those basics.) Anyway, I look forward to your Halloween creations. As a person who never cared for the day, I have only a handful of themed stamps. Maybe I'll dig one out!

I saw the Halloween cards you made earlier and I thought you would be perfect for this team. I know how ho love whimsica stamps and dies. You are perfect for the team and this card is perfect for the mood board. I am not sure the cat and bat are laughing. I think they are saying "E gads .... what is that?"
