Twofer Trees

Hello on a Thursday!  Today's play is for the Twofer Card Challenge.  The prompt is "trees" and I have no shortage of tree stamps and dies.  The hard part was choosing which to use.  Ultimately I went with a very old wood block stamp from All Night Media called Tall Pines.

The sympathy card will go into a batch I'm making for a friend.  I stenciled a cloudy sky in Pale Plum and the hillside in Going Gray.  There's a moon nestled in the clouds, but I'm not sure how obvious it is.  After all the ink was applied I smooshed the whole panel with Versamark ink and embossed with ultra-thick embossing powder.

The Christmas card shows the trees stamped just once on black cardstock and embossed in white.  The Memory Box Pine Forest Frame was cut in gold and situated over top.  I brought the sentiment in from the side and dry embossed a border along the bottom of the card.

Two different occasions, two completely different card designs, both using the same tree stamp.  Now I've filled a card need and I used a beloved old stamp from my stash.

Thanks for taking the time to visit.  I hope you have a beautiful day!

Both cards are beautiful and elegant. The first card is my favorite with all the gorgeous stenciling in the background and what a fabulous stamp you have in your 'stash', I really enjoy bringing out my older stamps as much as I love getting new ones, it's an addiction for sure! Really love the gold added tree to the holiday card, so elegant but looks as though it would mail easily too, both very pretty Leslie!

These are both such stunning designs, Leslie. That sympathy card is really moving with the emotion it evokes. I love that you did your clouds in purple behind those magnificent trees! And that sediment is beautifully said and perfectly placed as a label with gold brads. But the Christmas card is my fave! Love that elegant snowy tree design with the gold frame, gold tree, sediment strip, and dry embossed bottom! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #31! Keep well. Hugs, Darnell

Oh Leslie you have knocked it out of the park with these two. I just love the forest you made in the first card and yes I could tell that was the moon before I even read your description. The inking you have done on the background is just awesome!
That memory box frame die is just a perfect match for that stamp, I love the white embossing against the black with the gold framing and that little touch of embossing at the bottom is so cool!

Hiya, Leslie! (LOL)

Pink and black is so eye catching, but the way you have created a feeling of "eternity" in the scene, both close up, and in the sense of what is "beyond", is just incredible. I love the moon peeking from the clouds providing the hint of the great light of Hope is beautiful. I love this card. I can imagine your delight in stenciling, and then stamping the trees in the background. I have fallen in love with that sentiment. In fact, 10 minutes were just spent trying to find it on the internet, but Just Right stamps are long gone, even on e-bay. It's beautiful! Of course I am in love with the elegant gold and black Christmas card. That die cut works beautifully with the stamped trees! I have never thought of layering white on white sentiment strips the way you did on this card. Thanks for sharing your lovely creations today - both are pinned. xx

Both cards are fabulous, Leslie! I am so very taken with the sympathy card because I love inking and you achieved such a dramatic and soothing look. Love that I can see the moon through the trees. Your gold embossed sentiment and brads are the perfect accents. Your Christmas card is stunning with the white black gold and embossing.
Lastly, thanks for your comment on my blog assuring you don't tire of my buying new stuff. That thought made me smile for sure! But I feel the same way about your selections. It's all part of the process, isn't it? And the fun!

These are beautiful tree cards, Leslie! Seriously beautiful. I would have never thought to use the plum ink on a sympathy card, but may have to give it a go in the future. Stunning colors, and those trees work perfectly here. Your sentiment expresses sympathy in a lovely way, too. And what a sweet Christmas card! There's something special about white on black embossing, and the touch of gold with the tree frame adds just the right finishing touch. Gorgeous card!! Love them both. Take care and stay safe! Thanks for joining us at The Twofer Challenge my friend. xo Bev
