Floral Frame Watercolor

Hello there and welcome!  It's about time I colored this very fun bouquet that's been sitting unused in my basket for a few months.  Shame on me.  Just look how cheerful it is!  I love how the flowers are splashed together all carefree, and that's the way it begs to be colored, too.  No muss, no fuss, and I adore it!  The stamp is Floral Frame from Stampendous.  One image and lots of sentiments.

I watercolored with Tombow markers.  I did not plan to cut out the image, but I stamped it crooked, so this was the fix and the card is better for it.  You know how that happens.  The striped base is some heavyweight cardstock.  The black oval was already cut and waiting to be used.  A super quick card.  Why did I wait so long?  After I finished this one I colored two more.  So easy!  I'll share them a little later.

Today's card is heading over to Darnell's NBUS Challenge ~ 18 which is always anything goes as long as it's never before used schtuff.

I'll be back soon.  I've been doing a lot of stamping and coloring since our last camping trip.  I think we're done with that for a while as everything is very dry here in the west and fires are raging.  We're safe, but many people are not so fortunate.  Hugs to all!

Stamps:  Stampendous Floral Frame  Paper:  Fabriano Artistico Extra White 140 lb hot press, black, Park Lane 110 lb designer cardstock  Ink:  Palette Noir  Coloring:  Watercolor with Tombow markers  Other:  Center oval from Memory Box Oval Master Frame

What a pretty card this is! The black oval behind the bouquet sure sets them off beautifully, another thing I will have to keep in my memory bank for down the road! Like you our summer is winding down, already cooler nights and even cooler mornings, we have about 10 days then will head home for longer stays. We plan to come back 'up north' as we call it for the fall colors though

This is such a pretty card. Isn't it nice to have pieces cut and ready to put together! I like the striped paper. It goes nicely with the black oval and the colorful flower spray. Hope you get some more camping trips in when the weather cools down. Stay safe!

A gorgeous bouquet, love how you even gave it a yellow glow behind the bouquet, having it on the black background looks terrific, the framing of the sentiment is pretty with it too.
I sure hope you keep safe, I have not heard much about the fires lately, so didn't know how things were going. Hope you stay safe!

What a cool stamp, Leslie, and of course you've colored it just the way it should be colored:) Love how you finished it off, too, and good job of using another "card part."

I love your bright and cheerful bouquet, Leslie! Placing it on the black oval really makes it pop! Can't wait to see how you colored the other bouquets!

What a cheerful card! Many years ago I took a calligraphy class from Bob Phillips at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico. He called it "Working Spontaneously or Celebrating Mistakes". It was intended to help us loosen up and feel freedom within what can be a very disciplined art. He taught us to feature our mistakes. Since then, I have tried to just trust that my "muse" is directing my "mistakes".

Oh this is so lovely Leslie, I love that you ended up cutting this bouquet out and placing on the black oval, it really makes this pop! Your water colouring is so soft and pretty. As always, beautifully created! I love when you create! Have a great weekend Leslie, keep well! Hugs,

This is such a pretty card. I love that you used items that you hadn't previously used. The flowers are so pretty and I like the dark oval background you paired them with. I just found an SU stamp set that has never been inked yet and now I have a reason to use it.

You know I'm always impressed with your eye for design, Leslie! This great little bouquet would look fantastic just stamped on an OLC, but you're right, cutting it out really brings it to life, especially against that black and surrounded by the wonderful striping! Thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Keep well!! Hugs, Darnell

I can only echo what everyone has said about this sweet card. Yes, cutting it out and layering it over the black is brilliant! Combining it with the blue stripes looks fabulous!
